Lamkin Crossline vs Tour Velvet

Two basic (classic) grips, Lamkin Crossline and Golf Pride Tour Velvet. Both are at around $3 a piece. Both are rubber base grips without much technology.

Which one do you prefer? Why?

Lamkin Crossline,s they last forever and the Tour Velvets do not.

+1. For the most part, the velvet like grip from Golf Pride tend to wear out quicker than Lamkin. That is just my experience.

Which one is more comfortable on your palms?

Timely post. I recently been thinking of switching from Tour Velvets to Crosslines. I do however, prefer the version without the white filling.

I prefer the TV for feel and profile/taper but the Crossline are more durable.

Crosslines. More durable AND cheaper.

Crossline black over GP. GP does not last long for me. Lamkin is superior grip IMO.

Even when they get old, Lamkins get an almost suede feel to them. TV's get shiny.

Lamkin's for me. They make the best cheap grips in my opinion.

I have used TV quite a while now, just put some crossline mid on my set and so far I really like them. Never had the velvet get shiny and feel wise the crossline may have a tad more grip or adhesion with a glove on...like you can grab them better. I would not kick either out of bed for eating cookies.

Lamkins, great grips and they also donate money for the cure of prostate cancer with every grip purchase.

just switched to the crosslines on my r9 tp's and have found they wear my gloves out a bit quicker than the tv's.worth it though in my opinion

yup yup.

After experimenting with Winns for a few years I replaced them with the Lamkin Crosslines and I haven't looked back.

i agree with most of the others. tour velvets feel awesome when they are new but they wear out really fast. crosslines are slightly rougher but they last forever, plus they feel pretty good when they are worn which tv's do not, tv's suck when they get slick.

Looks like I'm the lone +1 for Tour Velvets on this post. Just actually replaced my normal Tour Velvets with 2 tape-wraps to Tour Velvet MidSize. They feel great. Been a while since I played the Crosslines. I remember feeling like I could feel the seam on the sides, though? Like a slick area compared to the rest of the grip?

Lamkin all the way. Better feel of the two. Last longer.

Velvets lasted weeks. X-lines last years.

Made the switch to Crosslines a few years ago and they do last longer. As much as I played then that helped alot. I also like the feel of them...

Lamkin all the way, unless you are a club ho and only keep your clubs around for a few months, then it doesnt really matter.

I like them both and dont notice much difference, perhaps the Crossline feels a bit thicker, ie. the TV slimmer/ more taper. Crossline looks better with the white paint fill to my eye
