RBZ hybrid vs Rescue 11

I notice many pros are still playing the Rescue 11 over the RBZ hybrids. What do you guys think of the RBZ? Does the Rescue 11 still take the cake? Thanks!

I know they're both TM clubs, but they're not even comparable. RBZ is clearly a GI hybrid. Almost like a wood with a shorter shaft. Completely focused on forgiveness and distance. The rescue 11 is more of a better players hybrid. Smaller head, less forgiving and more workable. Hard to say which is better when they're geared for different types of golfers.

IMO, a better way to describe the difference between the two is the RBZ is meant to be a fairway wood replacement while the Rescue11 is a long iron replacement. I have both, the Rescue 11 has a piercing trajectory while the RBZ has a higher launch almost wood like trajectory. Which one you choose depends on what you are tying to replace.

No contest for me, Rescue 11. Reasons being this, R11 is much more versatile and designed for accuracy. RBZ, as mentioned, is more wood like and designed for distance.

Simply put, Rescue 11 fits my needs better.

I prefer the Rescue 11 over the RBZ hybrid. One reason is because the R11 just feels better to me, and not to mention, I don't really see the need to moving up to the RBZ when Taylormade is probably going to release something like the Rescue 12 or Rescue 11S in a few weeks/month.

I totally agree with this assessment. I wouldn't say they are geared towards different players, it just depends on what you want out of the club. I tried the Rescue 11 for a while, but it was just too close to the Rescue 09 to warrant a change at the time.

For someone like me, though, who has never been comfortable with hybrids, the RBZ tour is a great choice because it is more like a shorter, smaller, easier to hit 5 wood. Would you call this more game improvement than the Rescue 11? Sure it's more forgiving, but I can work the ball with it and control my trajectory better than hybrids I've hit previously.

+1 I bought the r11 because I liked the smaller profile and the more piercing trajectory. I've had it for several weeks and am considering a 4 hybrid to go along with the 3 I have currently. It has been a great club so far.

I swapped out the Rescue 4 for an RBZ when it came out and had to swap back.

The shaft was longer on the RBZ and it looked and played like a wood. The headsize and shape is more like a wood than a hybrid, and it just did not sit right behind the ball to my eye.

Still loving the Rescue, I won't be trying anything else 'till the new version comes out.

If you currently get on with the Rescue my advice is don't swap!

The RBZ hybrid looks awful. It looks like an original TM Burner 5 wood from the early 90s.

The RBZ Tour hybrid however, looks great. I just had a TP version delivered, and it's totally different in shape to the non-Tour, and really looks good behind the ball.

I can't comment on the Rescue 11 unfortunately as I've never even bothered looking at one, let alone trying it. The two RBZ Tour TP clubs I had delivered today are the first TM clubs I've used in 18-20 years.

How about a brief review of that club. Did you hit a regular RBZ hybrid to compare? easy to hit? low or high flight etc?

I picked up a used Rescue 11 and love the way it sets up. But its pretty heavy. Are all hybrids like this?

What shaft did you have in it?
[/quote]

I went from a FT Hybrid (2006) to a Rescue 11, Both have 85g shafts. Rescue 11 seems much lighter to me.

Tried the RBZ hybrid and I thought it was excellent, feel swingwieght accuracy......ecept distance control and yardage gap for me. It was longer than I needed and I need a club to fit in just beyond my 3i. Depends on what kind of bag setup you have but the 4h in the rbz is the gap I think most would use after a 3i and the 3h is btwn 5wood/3wood = long. The TP rescue in this case would be my choice for my game/gaps.

I have only hit it golf course few rounds and I was not swinging well to say the least on the last one. I did hit it past my buddies RBZ 3 wood a couple of times when i did make good swings though. I really like the ball flight holds very well in the wind. Best shot i hit with it was on a 240 yard par 3 into about a 25 mph headwind. Chocked down a touch and knocked it 15 ft. At that point i was sold. I really think it goes every bit as far as most 4 woods. No it doesnt go as high but i dont play a lot of places where i need it landing soft from 250.

It has the Aldila RIP 65. I believe its the stock shaft. When I take the shaft off the head is pretty heavy so don't think its the shaft.

This thing has a serious case of he go fars. A few holes earlier I had 205 left after hitting it off the tee. Same wind was at my back on a 505 yd par 5. I hit it fairly hard but much to often sideways. If I hadn't just got the RBZ tour driver and had such an itch to hit it I probably would have used it on every tee shot. I used to be a Class A and qualified for the Remax one year.

I recently on a whim bought a R11 21 degree even though my Tour Rescue Mid has been in my bag for at least 4 years and WOW! That poor Rescue Mid is done!

I have not compared it to the RBZ because I like the adjustability. I do like the fact that the RBZ TP comes with the Altus shaft which I have in my R11 and R7 Rescues, but after playing the R11 for a few rounds, I see no need to even consider the RBZ no matter how good It might be.

The R11 is a bullet machine, but this might be a problem with my new 18 degree head. On the range, I am hitting my 21 degree as far as 18 degree because of the lack of carry in the 18. I have a much lower launching shaft in the 18 but have 2 Altus ready to go.
