Newtown CT shooting

My heart goes out to my friends in Newtown CT after this awful shooting today !!!

I grew up a few towns away from here and it sickens me to read and hear about this !!!

Just unbelievable !!

Definitely sickening. I'm not sure how you can even harm innocent children, but the only reason would be is that they are monsters and/or sick in the head. Regardless, no excuse. Prayers go out to the people killed and those injured. Respect goes out to the first responders and police department trying to figure out what happened.

This is beyond comprehension. How do you shoot children. Prayers go out to families and the children.

It seems like it is getting worse. There was another shooting at a mall last week. It seems like every month something like this is happening.

I really wish the media would stop disclosing the shooters name and putting their picture every where. That's exactly what these psychopaths want.

In Europe it's rare compared to the US for one very good reason. The abuse of that amendment is obscene and I wonder how many more days like this it will take before action is taken. I fear it may be far too many.

It's not disrespectful to mention this given what's happened, nobody is using it as a vehicle to press an agenda but people need to see why this happens and what can be done to stop it from happening again.

I read it was the father of one of the students... either way, this is a horrible ordeal that seems to be happening more and more often ever since Columbine.

Reported that they found a dead body at the shooters house, shot his mother and himself along with 18 children and other adults.

He has a twitter feed, looks like he had been talking about how much he hated life and his parents for a while....

Unbelievable what those children will now have to deal with for the rest of their lives and I cannot imagine the fear those parents felt.

There is nothing good that can come of this. Just senseless.

For those Euros out there, who dont know, our courts ruled in favor of guns twice, even as recently as yesterday. So they are not going anywhere for a while. Even if the laws changed, it would probably be impossible to remove them all at this point. Also our borders are so jacked that guns would come in with the drug trafficking and then only the wrong people would have them. I don't know what the solution is. So getting rid of them sounds good, but it is probably impossible to do.

This is crazy. Someone stabbed a bunch of children in China today. WTF is going on?

If my disgust for what has happened was seen as having an air of superiority I apologise. Obviously everyone is appalled by the events today and all people across the world will feel the sorrow that anyone of a caring nature would.

Guns, guns, guns. When the 2nd Amendment was written, single-shot flintlocks were state of the art. The idea of putting more and far deadlier weapons into the hands of the citizenry is bankrupt, as a growing number of people cannot govern their own behavior.

Over 100 rounds fired. How many times did the sicko have to reload? I say keep the guns around so the deranged next time might get shot while the innocent are trying to defend themselves.

Shooters brother found dead in New Jersey. Shooter went to his mom's classroom, she was a teacher, killed her and then opened fire on the Kindergartners in the room.

What a joke.. you should be ashamed of yourself... it has every thing to do with how easy it is to get a gun in America and with the amount of guns both legal and illegal that are floating around America.

It also has a lot to do with mental health care in America also.

Outlawing guns is the answer huh? Criminals don't follow the laws which would leave law abiding citizens defenseless.

This country does not have a gun problem. It has a societal problem.

I believe the problem lies in video games, TV, social media... and starts at a very young age.

Thing is sane people everywhere are prone to becoming insane at any given moment without warning.

I have a son in school that turns 5 soon. We are nowhere near conneticut. I teed off at 9:55 am this morning....I found out on the 4th hole....i left.....couldn't focus anymore......hit my dad button. After i picked him up this afternoon and got him home i lost it and wouldn't let him go. daddy doesnt cry. Only time he has seen it. .....ever. If you have kids then you know what im saying......all i could tell him was that i was crying because of how special he was and how happy i was that i get to play with him everyday. Hug your kids folks......nightmares like this are what really put into perspective how wonderful they are.
