Well, I promised myself that if I ever played a blade it would be either these or a set of Titleist 660's. They're the easiest blade I've ever hit. REALLY easy long irons due to the tungsten weighting in them, and the short irons are real shotmaker's clubs, creamy at impact, with terrific feedback. Milled faces (very similar to the spin milled wedges) make the M675's an AWESOME club. Pick em up, you won't regret it.

Thanks very much Metz. How would you compare the 'softness' to other forged irons eg. Mizuno and Titleist?

I've always loved the feel of Titleist forgings, and I have to say that the Mac feels just as soft as the Titleist. The long irons don't quite feel as good, but thats due to the tungsten and hollow design. Mizzy's will always feel softer to me, but really, not by much.

Thanks again Metz. You have me convinced ie. unless there are any significant opions to the contrary.

They are quite inexpensive - used relative to the price of Titleist and Mizuno irons of the same generation. I wonder if this is because MacGregor isn't as well known in North America and the other big name forged clubs have such a market presence or ?

Even the tungsten weighted long irons, however, feel better to me than a titleist stainless forging. The carbon steel used in the macs is great, and the finish really conveys the feel well. Note: the tungsten weighting in the long irons does detract from the feel just a bit, but at the same time puts them among the easiest to hit bladed long irons of all time.

Hey Tommy,

I have only one word of advice for you regarding the M675 - BUY. There are some great prices on eBay on the best set of clubs that I have ever played (except maybe the 1025M's). I have switched between the two sets for a few seasons and can confidently say they are the best irons out there IMO. I work in the business and can play whatever I want and these are my choices.

The 675M's look great and are unbelievably easy to hit. There is no need for hybrids as the 3-6 iron are really hybrids that look like blade irons. The scoring clubs are true blades and feel as wonderful as they look.

Once you get these in your bag - try the MacTec FW metals and drivers. Longest and straightest clubs that I have ever hit - so much so that my TM-TP's have been sold.

Thanks very much everyone.

I bought a set with R300 shafts for approx. $330 US - comprised of 4-pw, sw and lw. I took them to the range yesterday and can say, without qualification, they are the best set of irons I have every hit.

Although not quite as soft as Mizuno, I was amazed how easy to hit they were i.e. compared to my MP60s and other 'blades' I have tried. Either by design or because they suit my swing, they offer a level of confidence I have never experienced.

Thanks again for the words of encouragement!

Hi all. I'm going to chime in with another vote for "AMAZING". I have been using Top-Flite tour grinds since the late 90's :partytime2: . I decided to step up to the m675 set after hitting the m685s (which I also liked). I was initially a bit nervous about going with the s300 shafts because these carry a hefty swingweight.

I played with them for the first time a couple of weeks ago and they blew my socks off. I butchered the first hole with a couple of short iron mis-hits so on the next tee I said 'screw it' and pulled the 3-iron figuring that if I'm hitting awful, might as well go for something really ugly :clapping:. Well, I flat out smoked it down the pipe and my jaw dropped - haven't hit a 3 that far in my life. I play with my dad in a cart so we caught up to the foursome in front of us and they let us play through...I teed off with my 3 and hit it past their balls (they had hit first...don't know what clubs they used). On a 209 yard par 3 with water all down the left side, I decided to try the 5 iron figuring I'd come up well short (normally hit my 5 about 185-190). I carried to the front of the green! Crazy... Very workable, long, pretty forgiving and easy to hit for a blade. I carry a 9 handicap for reference.

Another vote for the M675's, feel great and very easy to hit long irons (although I hit the 3 & 4 irons terribly on the weekend :partytime2:, but I think it's more due to the fact that I've only had them a week). The irons overall were superb feeling and I felt I could do just about anything with them. Try and dial in my distances soon but it felt good on the last two holes I decided to rip 5 iron and hit it 170m (don't often do that) and the next hole hit my 7 iron around the 145m mark, really easy and great clubs. Anyone who buys them won't be disappointed with the feel, forgiveness and looks of these sharp clubs.

These irons are fantastic. Some members on this site have bashed them before due to the "oversized long irons" and harsher feel, but the long irons are so easy and fell great to me. True, they are a bit bigger than a lot of other long iron blades but for the vast majority of players, we need a little more forgiveness in the long irons. These clubs are swet and I am glad I have them!!
