Some have a different grip on their driver vs rest of set. Some use a different grip on the wedges vs rest of set. Some times it just a different color (YE Yang has a different color grip on each of his irons but same style grip). Some will use a large grip on their driver.

Lots of varieties out there.

That makes sense esp on the driver, thanks Greg. Looking forward to your Sea Island Work, my family used to have a boat down there, I just love that place. My Dad is a Marshal for the week , hes been doing it now for a number of years and loves it.

There are more guys doing this than you'd think-- the one that always came to mind to me was Lee Westwood. He's always used ID8 half cords on the irons and Lamkin Crossline full cord on his woods. You're starting to see this quite a bit too among players... Horschel like Greg said.

The one that I like and started doing similar is Jason Dufner. He uses Z-Cord logo up on driver, fairways, hybrids, and irons.... but the regular Tour Velvet cord logo down on his wedges. I started doing New Decade Multicompound on the driver, 3 wood, irons but Z-Cord logo down on the wedges. It makes sense because wedges are gripped with an open face more often than not for me and I like the thumb placement where the materials change on the Multicompound.

Caddied for a buddy at a U.S. Open qualifier 5 or 6 years ago at Salt Lake Country Club and Tony was in our group. He was playing the original Px-7a4 at the time and holy cow did he crush it. I think there were three par fours right around 385 and he hit it in the front bunker on all three. He couldn't make a putt that day and my buddy made a few more and ended up making it to the next round. Tony and his caddy were very cool. Both seemed very humble and really nice. I remember shaking hands with him at the end of the round and his hand swallowed mine. I'm no small guy and wear a L glove and my hands were tiny compared to his. I wonder how many wraps of tape he uses under his grips.

Gipper might hit it farther but he also swings out of his shoes. I've never seen a "pro" swing that hard.

Glad to see a "nice guy" earn his card and live his dream. Good for him and good for the game, it helps that he can hit it a mile, that is why fans will be drawn to him. Glad he is on with Callaway Golf, he could be a huge asset to them by this time next year.

My father was marshaling at the Mcladrey this week, he said Tony and his Caddy where super nice. Finau is a guy hard not to root for
