So I just got a kiyoshi purple shaft. It has a callaway adapter. Herein lies the problem— I don’t have a callaway driver head, and haven’t since the alpha a few years ago. Instead I was going to pull it and install a Taylormade adapter. Because I have a couple of 2016 M2 heads and an M3 Before I do that, though, the club ho in me got me to thinking—should I just try an epic or rogue?

 

A little background: I’m about a 3-4 hcp right now, after sitting out most of the season due to a back injury. My SS has been anywhere from 110-120 during the last 6-8 weeks since I’ve been fully healthy. My miss is a high spin big fade. I tend to spin it a lot when I miss it.

 

So which would you choose? Epic? Rogue? Or stick with the TM options I already have?

The Epic is an anti-left club which is why I got it.

 

The Rogue is just as long but more forgiving and somewhat straighter.

 

I found the both the Epic and Rogue longer than the TM although the both Callaways were far behind in feel.

If you can get a good deal on a Rogue head, then why not? If you don’t like it then sell it on BST. Easier to try it first and rule it out before you pull the adapter.

I’m at roughly the same swing speed and miss. The Epic SZ and Rogue SZ were great for me with that shaft

I'd probably try a Cally head first. I'm not much of a Callaway fan, but I know I can always be won over. If you're hitting the TM setup well, it may not serve you well to go through all the work to swap the adapter anyway. If you can do your own club work, I found a $99 shaft puller on eBay... it has saved me SO much money trying out shafts. Another option as you HO your life away!!

For now I think I decided to go with an epic SZ and give it a shot. However, we are WRXers so that may not last long. In other words, don’t be surprised to see a message from me in a couple weeks.
