Moving down from X100 - suggestions?

Sorry if this has been beat to death.....

I'm getting a little older and slower and I feel like i'm just not loading my X100's like I used to. Average 7 iron distance is 170-175 yards.

I switched to X100's years ago because I felt like the S300's always wanted to turn over left on me with a slight pull hook. The X100 always had much less curve either way and never wanted to go hard left.

Any suggestions on a shaft that is less boardy than X100 with better feel that doesn't want to go left like S300?

Consider to go ASCENDING weight or DG AMT

Even if we get older and slower (i know ALL about that), the scoring tools, our wedges and short irons will most likely still work the best "to the heavy side", while against the long end, we get to high mass to move, so in a set with Ascending weight shafts, we can keep the short end very close to what we are used to, but get some relief into the longer end.

DG AMT can be soft stepped to adjust feel, but since they are Ascending wgt, they move more on net cut wgt as SS1 than a Constant wgt shaft does, so if i suggest you try DG AMT X100 SS1, you can move all shaft wgt numbers by 5 grams down, who gives you a PW of 125 grams and a #3 iron shaft of about 107 uncut. as "comparable weight". Then keep "standard DG" shafts as your wedges if thats what you play now,, or soft step them if you want a tad lower wgt and improved feel.

Another option is the new DG 120 series, but that model gives a #3 iron thats 13 grams higher than AMT SS1.

AMT X100s are awesome for me. Definitely provide that consistent controlled flight in the short irons but I don't feel like I have to hammer the long irons, just swing smooth and you get same powerful feel of an X100. Using Tour White Model but they are same as regular AMTs.

I have been impressed with Nippon's lineup. I have hit all of their shafts and have gamed the 120's, the wedge shafts, and I currently have 130's in my bag... The Modus 105 is a great shaft that's a bit lighter, I typically dislike lighter shafts but I really liked it when I hit it. The 120 is a much more active shaft but the X plays more like a strong stiff so that would be a bit lighter than the x100's and be less demanding to load while still retaining a very stiff tip.

I have found the dispersion of the Nippon's superior to the DG stuff as well but that's my personal observation and opinion. The tolerances are also quite impressive with the Nippons as well, from what I have seen personally they are usually +- .5g which is ridiculous.

Another vote for considering the AMT X100 (in Tour White). I'm almost 52yrs old with a swingspeed and dynamic that most fitters would point toward S300 - perhaps even R300 (FWIW, I've always been more weight and bend profile sensitive than flex sensitive). However, I'm now in AMT X100 ssx1 and couldn't be happier. You can enjoy the familiar feel and stability in the short irons while enjoying the same feel at moderate weight in the mid irons.
