Anyone with a 120mph SS or more using the 6.5 evenflow black shaft?

Finding it wants to go left on me more then anything. Anyone finding it plays soft?

I played a 75 6.5 tipped an inch in an epic SZ for about half a season. It is a “soft” shaft. It frequencied at 263 com with a grip on at 45” so it was playing fairly stiff. Those shafts feel super smooth though. I kind of swing the shaft so it made me feel like I couldn’t rip it full bore and didn’t really work well when I was amped up only reason I switched. I swing 120-128 if I want to rip one. Definitely held up fine at 120 definitely feels loose and wild at 125.

Going lower in torque will give a better feeling of control. It's not that the shaft can't handle the speed, it that your subconscious feels the shaft as not keeping up and your hands try to compensate for the feel. Going with something like an Aldila Rip Alpha 80 will be like night and day.

I test a lot of shafts and I'm not quite that high of a SS player but I'm 117ish and I can overpower the Evenflow. The problem you're seeing with EF is basically because the shaft really isn't designed for someone who goes at it that hard. They freq. out soft and a too torquey for people who at that aggressive.

I think they did a nice job with the HZRDUS Smoke in terms of finding a happy place between stability and feel so it is worth a try. The EvenFlow T1100 would probably look good to you on paper but you're still going to feel that loose feel because they really just took the Evenflow and put some addition reinforcement in the tip section.

I would suggest giving the Smoke 75 6.5 tipped 3/4 to 1" a try.

Thanks! Our season just ended here so will be looking at some other shafts over the winter

I might have to try some of the 70-75gr shafts.

I have been sticking to the 65g options.

I am Curious about the hzdus black in the 6.5 75gr. Maybe even the T1100 as well.
