From MP53 to 919 Tour Irons??

Ive palyed MP53 for a long time. Having a heck of a time trying to replace them but it's time.

 

I would buy a new set if possible!

 

I didn't like the MP18 SC and hated the 919 forged

 

 

Are the 919 tours that much harder to hit than the MP53? How would the 919 tours compare to lets say a AP2 kinda iron??

 

Any long term 919 tour reviews?

I also play MP53. Such a great iron. I have yet to hit the 919 Tour, but if you did not like the 919 Forged I would recommend taking a look at the 900 Forged. Totally different club than the 919 and IMO is a much better matchup to what I like about the MP53. The 900F has a thinner sole than the 919 and is not as clunky. I found no difference in playabilty between the MP53 and 900 Forged.

 

Everyone says the 919 Tours are far easier to hit than the 900T so those are worth a test. I thought the MP5’s were easier for me than the 900T.

Your handicap is substantially lower than mine, I went from MP 53s to hot metals and they go far and straight

I games 53’s and 54’s for a few years. Some of my best golf ever with those sticks. I’ve swung the 919 Tours considerably and still might game them. Just a stunning iron, but the recent sale on the MP 18 MMC has me feeling frisky. Don’t be afraid of the lack of undercut technology like the 919 Forged and 53’s has. You can swing the 919 Tours as they are just as forgiving as the 900 Forged which had the undercut tech (which says a lot). Go put a swing on them, you’ll be amazed.

I played mp54 for a season and have been playing 919 Tours for 6 months or so. In terms of forgiveness, I find them both to be similar. 919T launches lower than 54s but 919T has much better feel than 54s. I don’t see myself buying new irons for a while. Happy to answer specific questions if you have any

im interested as well. are you playing the same shafts? are the clubs playing similar distances assuming same specs?

The 919 is bigger than the 900 and gonna look hugeish compared to mp53.

Mp55 or mp66 would be something to look at.

@nikeblades00 kind of . I was playing s300 (130g )in mp54 and now playing s300(120g) in 919T. I find mp54 to launch a bit higher and the 919T to have less spin (3-400 rpms lower on 7 iron). Distance wise they are both pretty close ( distance variations are more operator error) .

good question. I love the look of the 919 tours but they can't be as forgiving as the 53s
