The 3rd picture looks like the new hole #1. The last picture looks like #2. Second picture looks like #10.

first like #14 straight downhill? second is #7 I guess. The shorter par 4? Old hole had like 20 traps. I’m guessing on these.

If my notes are right, first is #15, 2nd is #10

Yeah your right. I didn’t see the slope in #10. And I couldn’t remember if that was 14 or 15 but the hole that I thought it was

I'll be the first to admit I ain't much of a golfer in terms of skill or scoring due to execution, but I can pick a line and strategy pretty well and have a real appreciation for architecture. Keeping that in mind, from the pictures you've posted here, the holes look pretty easy. Am I wrong or is the course now pretty "gettable" if you are playing the correct tees and not doing anything stupid?

the old course was far from easy. One of the more challenging courses around middle Tennessee. This new one was supposed to be more resort friendly.

 

for example number #7 on the old course was like a 320 yard hole straight that had no fairway and maybe 25 traps between you and the hole.

Curious what they did to number 6 and 8 because they were awful from the back tees. I did get my only hole in one on number 6 but it wasn’t flagged and I didn’t even know I did it..apparently it caromed off the side slope

6 was the one (I was told) most member complained about. It was the one I heard they were going to re-do before hearing they sold. It was just long enough that it was hard to hit it high enough to hold the green. You couldn’t come in from the right because of the big rock if you landed middle of the green, you’d roll off the back The only bail out was short and left. Definitely a hard par 3

Every time we drive over to Franklin we ride through and see how it looks. I hardly ever see anyone on the course. Seems like a huge waste to have spent this long and tons of money only to have very few people on it. Maybe we just go through at the wrong times but it sure seems to be empty.

It’s usually pretty empty. I drive past it every day. I live five minutes from there. Of course at 8am  when I’m taking my kid to school there probably won’t be a ton of play. But I have a buddy that works there. He can’t even play let alone get me on. Says they usually have 8 to 10 people play a day.  Maybe that will change this upcoming spring

This is true.  I just drove past it coming back from Henry Horton. When I’m in town I drive past it to take my kid to school.  I had to pick up one of my kids friends and take him to school and we were late as they wouldn’t let me in the neighborhood until they could get a hold of the resident.  The mom was taking a shower and didn’t answer.   Good times.   
 

they finally closed One entrance tho so only need a few guards.  Can’t believe they keep paying 24 hr coverage by 5 or 6 guards instead of putting up a gate.

What kind of shape is Horton in? I haven’t played over there this year.

Awesome! Best greens in the mid state, IMO.  They are real fast right now. Love that course.  Helps I shot a 74 today.

Awesome Matt. What did you shoot on the back 9? I stayed at HH with my son on the way back from Shiloh in the spring. Didn't play but the course looked great.

36-38.  Tying my PB. Shot a 74 last season at Hermitage Generals.   The greens were awesome today.  I always love their greens but they have gone from slow to fast.

Congratulations Matt! Sure was fun to play Stillwater back when it opened up. Not gonna happen anytime soon though. Thanks for keeping us up on the goings on over there.

Thanks guys, yeah it was fun all of us getting out to play there.  Wish we could again, but I agree, I’ve probably played my last round there.  😠
