Man, hate driving by Hideaway everyday.

That would be torture! I feel your pain. I drive around and live on a course that I can't play. It's sucks big time.

Rode around the course yesterday. Lots of houses going up. Looks like they have started the club house at the top of the hill. They are adding a second entrance off of Cox Road. Saw a few folks playing. Course looks amazing of course. I envy those who can playing it.

I've been in contact with Hideaway. Officially opens this weekend. I am considering joining the club. I'm a little apprehensive considering it's brand new and how many starts and stops this project has seen over the years. Can someone convince me that joining is either a particularly good or bad idea?

Great idea. Saving a ton on the early initiations. Parade of homes were going in the $1.0 million range. The course is amazing. I can't imagine how it doesn't take off. Would kill to be able to play it on a regular basis.

Great course that's for sure. I guess if you've got the money, why not.

One million dollars homes? Holy cow, you just about buy your own golf course around here.

It's such a huge let down after following this course since its start many years ago, calling every 6 months or so checking to see when they would be ready for play, finally getting a phone number that didn't work. And then to see a new group pick up and finish it off, only to see it be reserved for the country club folks. Yeah, a huge let down.

Went to the parade of homes out their twice in the last few weeks. Most of the homes were $1.3 I believe. I know the one sold went for that and 2 that had a price in their media stated $1.3.

Very nice homes but was told $700-ish last year. And was told they wanted to be a step below the Grove. Well besides the massive club house and amazing pool, and a gate it's pretty much right on top of it. I guess homes in the Grove go up to quite a bit more than that, but certainly not what I was thinking by "a step below the Grove".

Matt, Did you get to speak with Johan while you were out there? How much are they charging to be a member out there? I have an arm and a leg I can throw in but my first born is already married so I can't throw her in...

No, I did not see him. I was told by some guys at Indian Hills that were interested that a month ago they were told it was $3k initiations and $395/month for now. The $3k will move to $6k at some point, per these guys.

Can someone convince me that joining is either a particularly good or bad idea?

In terms of joining, would think now is the time to do it as I don't see any issue with the course and development being viable. Just comes down to the typical questions that you should ask yourself when looking to join a club (in my mind anyway): how good is the course, is it a course I would want to play the majority of my rounds at, distance from home/work, what is the membership like?

I will say that for me, the deal breaker is location as we currently live in Franklin and it is a good 20-25 minute drive (I am 2 miles from my current club). My Wife and I drove down this weekend and think the whole place is very compelling - but there is very little to no infrastructure around it. But again, the course and the houses are very compelling...

Ahh, love that course. It's tight. I went to high school with some of the Whittemore's.

It has been a long time since I've posted but this make me so happy. I am so proud a good group took over this course. I read all the comments and smile. Thank you For bring this to finish. Im glad you all like course. I hope to make it down and play it someday.

Help me out. Is hole 1 the split fairway with the pond on the right and 10 the short 4 on the "back side of hill".

Also, what does the clubhouse look like? Is it nice.

Bobby

Here are some pictures of what it will look like once it's built:

I saw today that a building is up where the club house was supposed to be. I wonder if they had to scale it way back?

Hard to imagine that will have locker rooms, general store, and a restaurant like I was told it would have.

Played there this weekend. Wet of course but still going to be a fantastic place to play. Greens were in good shape, slow due to growth since they couldn't cut them with all the rain recently. But man, that place is a gem.

I think it's like $3000k to join right now and $395/month.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet (apologies as always for my laziness), but they are on Boxgroove.com for VERY reasonable rates. Weekend rate is exactly what the weekend guest rate at my club is. Can't wait to take advantage of that for what I imagine won't last forever...
