Stillwater golf course at Mystic Ridge...Now Hideaway at Arrington

Matt, Disappointing news. Not sure how they can make it with just 50 people but its their deal. I disagree on your best public courses in Nashville area. At least for value. Old Fort is hands down the best value and Indian Hills is getting better. Hermitage and GS want way too much $$ to play.

Oh I agree, Old Fort is my favorite. That is why I play and practice there. It's the best value out there for sure. But I think if price and proximity were all equal, most would choose the two I mentioned over OF.

Hey guys, want to thank your for this great thread. My wife and I have have considering Hideaway at Arrington. Loved the pics and the views of the course. Any concern about the views being diminished with the proximity of the houses to the course? Also any played the Hideaway and the Grove and have any opinions on both? Thanks!

Right now only hole #4 has any houses on it. But man are they some monster houses!

I'm still disappointed that I will never get to play the Hideaway again.

I live in the Boro, but I play Tims Ford more than any course around... Can't beat it this time of the year... Especially with the greens being fast...

Love the Bear Trace at Tims Ford. We play there pretty regularly. It's in perfect condition right now.

You and me both. I'm guessing that they aren't thinking much about the GolfWRX gang much these days.

Played there yesterday.. Great shape..they are punching the greens Monday... Going to try and get back by the end of the week..

I'll be out there Thursday or Friday. I hope they use the small punches so the holes won't be too big.

Can anyone give me a little insight on the membership here? I'm interested in joining a club and the comments and pics in this thread have me interested in Hideaway. I saw the comment above about only 50 members to start. I've contacted them a couple of times but I cannot get a response from them to a request for basic membership info. If the 50 member limit is true, does that mean they are not presently accepting any new members? Can someone help shed a little light on the current situation?

The best way I can think of is to just drive to the course and see if Johan is there. I'm too far away to hear the local gossip about the course. If you do join, be ready to be bombarded with access requests, including from myself. In 3 hours away and would drive there to play whenever I could, it's that nice of a course.

Last I was told they are done with the second round of 50. The next round should start in October. 9k initiation is what I was told.

Me and a couple of friends were/are interested in joining but we didn't get notified of the first 50 memberships being offered. I personally don't play after october due to work and lack of light after I get off. I'm not giving the course 12k in dues and initiation before I will begin to play again in March.

You really need to play it. It is a hard golf course..if you like that. The range won't be good for working on much besides ball first contact due to the fact you are hitting to targets dramatically downhill.

My group has serious doubts as well that it will survive at least in it's current structure. There is a reason it has been built for many years and just now is opening. The economy can't get any better than it is in Williamson and Rutherford county but it still is a drive for everyone except people that live in the new neighborhood they are developing. Also I have mentioned it is a hard golf course..so hard that some will play it once and not come back. The course is built on a fantastic piece of land and has a lot of undulations. It will not be easy to mow and if the course gets hurting for money I could see it cutting back on mowing which will turn it into fairway, a couple feet of rough then waist high grass/weeds. It also has a lot of bunkers..too many to be kept up properly. Basically this course was built like a resort course to me without ever being able to generate the amount of income to support it. Obviously, this is just my opinion.

Johan was sitting in his car in the gravel parking area at the top of the hill last time I rode thru.

It a shame it will only be open to the wealthy. But that's Williamson county for you.

Just viewed an article on Johan regarding the PGA championship. Looks like he has a bad shoulder and knee. Go to www.wkrn.com.

Oh wow. Well good to hear about him playing. Maybe while he is laid up, we can sneak back out there? :)

Heck I'd be ok trading work for golf like some of us did last year. Work half a day and play golf after. Whatever it takes to get another round out there since joining is not an option.

I agree too. I would try my best to make it there just to play it again. Hopefully there will be some way us common folk can play. Matt, let me know when you are back in k-town and maybe play a quick 9.
was just there. Played Williams Creek or something like that. Par 3 course. I need the iron work. I'll let you know next time I'm in for sure.
