Fake PXG 0311 XF

I worked in golf retail for a long time and am pretty good at spotting fake clubs. I was out of the business full time right around the time PXG came out, so I have to say I'm not the best at knowing exactly what to look for on these clubs.

I picked up at set with one of the local shops I work with (I run my own side business helping some local shops move trade ins) and listed them on eBay. Luckily, a person who had purchased a few (real) sugar daddy wedges from me started asking me about why I was selling fake clubs. I had no clue I was and removed them after he pointed one thing out which made me stat to look at everything with them vs a real set.

I'm sure these are fakes and I'm just posting this here to help spread the word for others out there. This may not be news to anyone, but as I said, I am not super familiar with the small details of PXG and these slipped by me.

The 4 connects all the way up, and doesn't on real models.I could be off on this, but I think there should be 7 screws, not 6 above the PXG logo on the flange. The tail of the 9 extends past the line on the soleThe middle of the 8 comes to points, where is should be a perfect circleThe arch of the 5 should go up, ie left, down, then it should arch up, not go straight acrossThe W is square but it should be rounded. These are just a few of the differences I'm noticing. Don't flame me, I don't get a ton of PXG trade ins so I don't have a ton of experience with them. Just trying to spread as much info about fakes as possible so people don't make errors in purchasing.

Correct...they are counterfeits.

ID these on here about 1 1/2 years ago, but worth a review.

If you check serial numbers with PXG, make sure to check model, iron # and finish.

These are in extreme dark and I have seen the correct s/n but for the satin finish!...not black.

Yes, the counterfeiters do use authentic s/n in most cases, but they often do not match.

I saw your thread about the eBay guys selling PXG just by googling fake PXG 0311 XF. Amazing no one on eBay shut the listings down. I'm glad mine didn't sell. I want no part of the counterfeit market. Mine do not have SN's I wasn't aware that all clubs from PXG will always have an SN. I remember there being certain models of clubs from manufacturers like Callaway, who on random models didn't use serial numbers, so I didn't think it was all that suspicious.

thanks for posting. when i was looking for some used 0311s a few months back, i found a LOT of fakes out there. verified many with incorrect serials that did not match the actual set makeup. a lot of money to be had faking them, i'd be very wary of any secondhand pxgs without a detailed history of where they came from.

Thanks for the info but your observations are way off. Depending on the Gen and which model you purchased will determine how many screws there are. Also, PXG used several different stamping locations prior to Gen 2. Gen 1 irons also had the white line on the club face. Again, I appreciate your help but please only post correct information.

I never said all PXG models have the same number of screws... I'm clearly referring to the model in question, which is the 0311XF. They have 7 screws above the PXG logo on the flange.
