Recommend a hybrid for me

Time for a change. I've never LOVED my Adams A12 but they're OK. Lately I can't seem to hit them the way I used to. It's not the clubs but I need/want a change.

 

Here's what I'm looking for:

 

Traditional hybrid shape - not too big like a FW, or too small

Preferably 22 degrees of loft with an option for 19

Forgiving

Neutral face and weighting

Shaft on the shorter side as these are "replacing" a 4 and 3 iron

Doesn't have to be latest model

Straightest is better than longest

 

Tell me what you've hit and what you like and why.

[/quote]Ping G30. I would think meets all your visual requirements. Lofts of 22* and 19* available. Their performance is an axiom. And can be custom ordered and built to the finished length and appropriate swing weight you might be requesting.

915h is the first hybrid that doesn't seem to go left on me (touch wood). Adjustable so you can dial in your lofts if that's your thing. Actually considering adding another. Love it.

You could start with Ping G25 and you will be very happy. Standard length clubs help with hitting the ball better (most of the newer hybrids have longer shafts for increased distance but suffer inconsistencies to some extent) in my opinion. However any Ping hybrid would be a good choice. Second choice would be Cobra hybrids.

I just bought a Bio Cell 4-5 hybrid brand new for 80 dollars. I really like it. If you can find it for 3-4 then buy it.

a12 is hard to beat, IMHO. I can hit my 19* high, low, fade, draw and works well in rough, fairway and tee.

Now if I could hit the thing, say 5-10 yards longer, it would be the perfect club.

I'll throw in a recommendation for Bridgestone. The J40 and J15 series both come in 21* for 3-iron replacement. Not the longest out there, just super solid and versatile. Both models come in a traditional shape with good forgiveness.

+1 for A12. Have gone thru various different hybrids but always come back to it! Another great one was Cobra Baffler Pro - stock made-for Speeder shaft (X) was really good, just had to tip it an inch. Only if I kept that Cobra (19*)...

Thanks for the suggestions. I have owned the G25 and couldn't get along with it. I think it was a swing weight / overall weight issue. Lovely looking club though.

The 915H looks exceptional at address - I will look into it even though I have never played Titleist before.

Will also look into the Bridgestone as they make quality gear. Does anyone have experience withe the new Srixon or Mizuno hybrids?

Adams Red hasn't gotten hardly any attention and I'm very surprised. The shape is more appealing to me than most others on the market, just the rIght size.
