6.0 felt real nice on full swing. Would feel better +0.5" but didn't notice any boardiness/harsh feeling. Actually felt real good at ball contact. Interested in trying them in the future. Thanks guys.

Just caught your thread and I recently have gone through the same experience. I recently bought some J40's on the bay with 5.0 flighted in them. I'm a 83 6i SS more of a hitter than a swinger with aggresive transistion. I'm a 2 hdcp so I'm used to a fairly consistent ball flight. I really liked the feel of the 5.0 and the distance was very nice but I found the dispersion not to my liking. I happened to have some 6.0 flighted shafts so I soft stepped them x1 and found a nice head/shaft combo for me. Having said that I would not doubt that 5.5 straight in would work pretty well also. I myself would prefer the shaft slightly stiffer. My .02.

I have a simiilar swing speed and for PX Flighted, you could go either 5.5 or 6.0. I felt more comfortable with the 5.5 just because mentally, I felt like I could just swing smoother and didnt have to be as aggressive in trying to load the shaft properly. I've had both and pretty much got similar results from both.

I'll chime in here. I have a 6 iron swing speed that's right around 87-90 MPH with an aggressive transition and play a standard PX in 6.0 straight in in my irons. I came to those from 5.5 standard Project X in my last set of irons and while I did give up a little bit of distance with the stiffer shafts, it's not two clubs. I gave up about 5 yards on each club, but I am much more accurate with the 6.0 compared to the 5.5 due to the difference in weight and the slightly lower spin. I will say that the PX 6.0 does NOT feel nice on a cold day when a ball is not struck well. If the OP is around 84 pretty consistently, a 5.5 straight in ought to be fine (even if it is a little on the stiff side) since the shaft is a good bit lighter than it's comparable DG.

Px is actually pretty smooth shaft....problem is numbers are off..people think 6.0 is stiff and its not...6.0 is a 6.5

so most pick a px that is too stiff...a 5.0 is a stiff or soft stiff

need to have late release as well

as long as you have one and get proper flex, they are smooth and as accurate as anything

even if you play a flex softer the px handles it very well....it will not feel whippy like other shafts

go 1/2 flex softer than what you think you need and you probably be happy

get a px thats too stiff and it will feel like 2x4....late release is key as well imo

if you cast or are a scooper stay away from px
