Just curious. Zero here. Been playing off and on for 20+ years. I've burned the edge of the cup once and hit the pin rolling twice. DOH!

Got one playing with my Dad on his birthday a couple years ago. I ran around screaming like a little girl....he laughed so hard he cried. I couldnt ask for a better Father/Son memory.

Took me 30 years to achieve my one ( and so far only!) ace, achieved in a match against our local rivals at their 163 yard 2nd hole two years ago. I have hit the pin and lipped out many times, somewhat ironic that my only hole in one was from a less than perfect contact which looked as if it would be nowhere near the pin, took a strange kick to the right on landing and rolled into the hole!

It's not how, but how many!

Four in 20 years' playing. Or, actually, in the last 15.

 

All at my home club, and all in informal rounds with friends. Never had one yet in competition.

 

2 on a straightforward, slightly downhill par 3 of 155. Once with 9 iron, once with 7.

 

One on a pretty tough 195 yarder - 4 iron I think; and one on our 3rd hole. A tough 200 yarder with bunkers and a tough green that's only about 12 yards wide. 5 iron.

 

Not quite at the Art wall stage yet sadly.

Off topic, but I once had 3 eagles in a row in a club match at my home track. A 300 yard par 4 and then 2 reachable par 5s. Holed a greenside bunker shot on the second par 5. I've never met anyone else who's ever done that, so that must be pretty rare....

 

I was so stunned, I made a 5 on the next hole - a par 3 - after a nearly-shanked tee shot.

None and not even that many close calls in over 20 years of golf. I've hit in the hole twice on the fly, but both bounced out. I've hit the pin a few times, the most recent which hit the pin, then bounced into the water. I've left one or two on the lip. Still, nothing.

 

I know a 20 handicapper who has had 10 and I know a +2 who has none. Definitely alot of luck involved.

I am still at zero. I have had a couple graze the hole or come up a few inches short, but none have ever fell yet.

One for Jammy.....A nice little 156 yd. par 3 - 9 iron - I actually didn't hit it all that well - caught it a bit thin, but carried the pond which surrounds the front side of the green and dropped it in about 2 ft. behind the pin...sucker spun back and dropped - Definently my most amazing shot!

Hit the pin twice only to watch my ball go flying off the green and both times end up with a bogey. Burned the edges a few times yet I still ahve the big goose egg with 0 holes-in-one. Makes me sad but I'll keep trying :blink:

Zero here, but have been close on more than one account. The best was damn near draining it on the fly...instead I left a ball mark on the edge of the cup.

One - was tucked behind a trap .....got to the green and didn't see my ball and started walking to the trap. One of my player partners tells me it's in the hole and I say right and continue walking ......

Mine was at 20, had been playing 1 year. 3 iron, 185. 3 hops right in the hole.

What could top that?? how about my 4 year old son, yes 4, holing it out from 60 yds in the fairway with 7 iron!!! pured it and it carried to the green and ran right in the hole.

In the 5yrs i have been playing, i have had 5. (4 were at a local par 3 course, so i dont know if you could

say they were "legitimate") and 1 at a 18-hole course here where i live.

 

#15 171yds with a 6-iron.

Never had one, once I hit the pin and I thought it was still leaning against it so I was just going to pull the pin out and it would drop, but it wasn't. I know someone who hit a tree and then went in the hole, though

I once saw someone fat an 8 iron which clonked onto a sprinkler head and then shot straight up about 30 feet in the air only to slam dunk into the hole. It wasn't an ace; it was his third on a par 5, but it was still pretty remarkable.

I had my first and only on a rainy 44* day with 25mph winds; go figure! Remember, a hole in one is pure luck but getting close to the hole involves skill. Check this out; I've actually hit the flag twice in the same shot and didn't fall! Hit the flag on one bounce jumped past the hole then spun back and hit the miserable stick again; pure crap!

After playing for almost 25 years, I had my first last summer. It was a crazy feeling of dumbfounded excitement. Hopefully I won't have to wait 25 years for #2.

My brother is the only family member that hasn't had one, but he's got a Double Eagle.

 

As for mine, 150 yd. uphill par 3. Canned it on the fly. Still have the 8 iron and golf ball from that shot.

Hit sticks, been inches away, but none for me. Nearly had my first double eagle last year. One freaking inch.
