Hole in One Poll

Only one ace here. Last year on my mom's birthday....ditched her and played a round with my old man. 160 yards, put it 10 feet past the pin with an 8 iron and spun it back in. Almost knocked myself out when I threw the club in the air, hit me in the left shoulder though.

 

mom was so pissed that we golfed w/out her that she hid my hole in one ball for a month.

No hole in one's here but I do have three perfect games in bowling.

I have been playing for 41 years and have two.

 

1. 1986; a PGA Tommy Armour forged blade 2-iron and Maxfli Balata ball, 215 yds, my home course.

 

2. 2005; a Tour issue 1996 Big Bertha 6-iron and Maxfli Rev. tour ball, 167 3rd hole at Falcon Fire, Orlando.

 

It is interesting that they both involved Maxfli balls but irons that are polar opposites in design. I kept the second ball but in true 'ho fashion, the irons are l-o-n-g gone.

ive had two- both on the same day different years. feb 23rd,2006, feb 23rd 2007! NO LIES.

1)142 yrds, Titleist forged 804 8 iron, no wind, starta tour ace ball, canned it too, made a half moon mark on the front of the cup. you could here the little click of the ball hitting the lower part of the stick and cup under the ground. when i made it. im like " i just made a hole in one???" and then i say it again softer and smiled. then im like ha ha, I JUST MADE A HOLE IN ONE MAN! the freddy is like YOU JUST MADE A HOLE IN ONE! then jimmy my other boy says. haha YOU MADE A HOLE IN ONE! i had honors...so i hit first..they hit and they didnt belive it was in. Freedy runs up to see if its in the cup. hes like damn dude u made a hole in one. i grabbed the ball and we all did a huge hog pile. was great man. u had to be there. then i was so shocked i bogey the next three holes. great times man.

 

2nd)154 yard , big strong head wind, hogan ftx 5 iron, cut shot over a large bunker infront. guys i was playing with one missed his shot slightly left and short, was on the apron and said to me "its in." i said no man. no i cnat be. he said it was but he was lke 30 feet away...i walk up to it slowly and bingo. it was in. the pivot mark was in front about 5 feet and a little left of the hole. the cut spin sent it home. i went crazy again. and im like i hit one last year. and then im like it was around the same time. i get home and look at my plaque with my tour ace ball....and low and behold its the exact same day....nobody belives me about the time thing, but people belive me that ive hit two. true story guys...

Never been closer than a foot, and never seen one in person. Played with a guy once that had his ball defy all of the laws of physics, though. Left to right wind, green sloped left to right, middlle-of-summer fast greens, and the pin was on the downslope toward the right side of the green. He hit a big cut that rode the wind the entire way and stopped overhanging the lip. We sat there for at least 2 minutes just starting at it because we couldn't believe that it wouldn't fall. Damn lumpy-donut, I guess. :drinks:

Had one at the pubbie course we play for high school (senior now so wont be doing too much of that). it's all so clear: nice day, august 1st (my bro's b-day) mid-afternoon, my good friend and some random man we got paired with. 132 yards, 3/4 pitching wedge, and i was thinking to myself... easy birdie. When we didnt see a ball, but rather those up on the 9th tee with their eyes bulging, i realized what happened.

 

i was so calm about it, it makes me laugh i didnt scream out loud.

 

i have yet to birdie that hole since.

my first was almost 15 yrs ago at Tiger's home high school track when it was called Dad Miller G.C.... its the home of the tiger woods learning center. hit a 3w 235 yds never saw it. the guys at the next green said it hit the fringe and rolled 40 some odd feet till it hit the stick. i was a 15 handicap at the time. my second was at desert rose gc in las vegas 7 yrs ago 195 yds 3i... never saw it either it was dead into the afternoon sun but they did announce it on the golf channel which was way cool... both done with a maxfli ball... :drinks:

Just one. Last November I was playing with my dad into an uphill par 3, 169 yds. Hit 7 iron and I didn't see it go in, but definitely heard a "tink." When we were driving up I looked all over the green and didn't see a ball - went up to the hole and there it was, staring right back at me. I've played for over 20 years and hadn't seen anyone get one before.
