My new putter

So I picked up a Taylormade Japan Tour Preferred Forged Milled MA-81 putter head on the BST, had it shafted with a black ghost tour shaft and superstroke 2.0 grip. I'm going to roll it for a few more weeks before I post a review but so far, so good. Figured there is enough club hos on this forum that someone will enjoy the pictures. Sorry about my hobbit feet.

Standard grip. I've messed around with a pencil grip on other putters but could only roll with it from inside 8 feet. I would like to try it with the ss claw grip though.

Awesome putter! I have always wished my stroke worked with 09 style putters, they are the most beautiful shape.

Conventional wisdom says my stroke wouldn't (I'm pretty much straight-back-striaght-thorough) but for some reason they work best for me. What's really strange though is that I can't get anything started on line with a #9 HT (del mar style). Go figure.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is "BST?" I really like white putters, but Scotty won't make one ... thought about rattlecanning it myself, but chickened out.

Might be time to switch to TM. So with your SBST stoke works with that much toe hang?

BST is the Buy/Sell/Trade forum (Classifieds). My stroke is pretty much SBST or at least that's what I'm thinking when I'm putting. I don't know if this is going to make sense but when I putt, I think about holding the face off (preventing it from closing) so it stays pointed along my target line. I've found that the #9 style works well for this. Because of the massive amount of toe-hang, I can really feel the toe of the putter and I find it easier know where the face is pointed, thus making it easier to hold the face open than more face-balanced putters.

Hmmmm, seems like I should go try a toe heavy putter. To be honest, I've never tried to use one because every time I'm looking for a putter, I'm given something face balanced to try out. Next time I'll just say I want a heel shafted putter.

So far, so good. It's rolling great on my indoor green but my regular course just aerated two weeks ago so it'll be another couple of weeks before I can try it out on some real, quick greens.
