Awesome bag (I have the same actual bag)! How do you like the JPX850 compared to the MP650? I was thinking of picking up a JPX850 or MP650 to complete a full Mizzy bag.

Frosty, DW can definitely tell you more about the 650. But I've had both the BC+ and 850 this year and the 850 is staying put for now. I will say that the 6.3 TS that is stock is an awesome shaft and just a little tighter and lower launch/spin than the 6Q3 in the Cobra (I had X in both). The forgiveness level might be a little better on the BC+ but I like the 850 much better on misses low on the face. High on the face with the 850 is where you can get some knucklers that get a little wild at times. Overall though, the 850 is a lower launch and spin driver than the BC+ if you need it. Playing both in 8.5 the 850 is noticeably lower launching and spinning for me. I may experiment with a slightly higher launching shaft in the 850.

Thanks Frosty! The 850 and 650 are two very different heads that essentially do the same thing- They both launch fairly low and don't spin much at all. The 650 is classy, sleek and soft/muted feeling/sounding that goes about it's business flying under the radar being sneaky long. The 850 is it's punk-a$$ little brother who has a Mohawk dyed blue and is louder about putting balls in roughly the same place as the 650. The thing with the 850 is that I found it to be longer on mis-hits- especially low on the face (my miss).

Bottom line is that I own both for a reason. Depending on what mood you're in, they're both absolutely great drivers. I found that the 650 may be more forgiving when you have the wrong shaft in it. I was spraying it with the 850 and a light (for me) shaft. I put any shaft in the 650 and it just works.

I hope this helps!

Hit well!

I think I bit off just a hair more than I can chew with the Tour X that is in it. I can make it work, but I have to set up for a fade and the crank the hell out of it. When I do, the flight is impressive (and it IS deep), but in the current setup, it is a one-trick poney. I think I will pick up another Proto for it. You might actually get along with the Tour X better. I can send the whole thing down and you can give it a whirl? If you like the shaft, keep it for the 850.

I'm loving my 850 driver as well! I have been itching for awhile now to try the 650 driver so I found a brand new one 8.5° on the bay and snatched it up! I just ordered 2 aldila rogue 70tx 125msi shafts from titleist. 1 for the mp 650 1 for the JPX 850. I can't wait to compare these side by side. I'm hoping the performance is identical. The only thing I don't care for about the JPX is the sound. From what I've read the 650 sounds great. Looking forward to this experiment!
Also how are you liking that mizuno tour stand bag? Is tangle a big issue? I live the looks of it!

Hey Jet!

There's a port on the 850 to hotmelt if you're not into the sound. Is that an option for you?

The bag is pretty good. Certainly different than my Sun Mountain 4.5 with 14 way dividers. The base is certainly better for carts, but not perfect. I'm getting used to the strap. It doesn't get tangled, but I can't just toss it on like my 4.5. Also, the stand feet slip a bit on tile (not that I golf on tile much). It doesn't have a strap at the base. It's got this plastic curve-thing. It makes it a little more difficult to get in/out of my trunk and it doesn't have that loop/handle at the very top where it meets your clubs. It's got two with one on each side with nothing in the middle. Again, still breaking it in. It looks great and seems to have great quality other than the things I'm not used to.

Thanks for the info DW! I may have to give that bag a go. I did think about hotmelt but I don't want to change anything on it. It is a awesome driver the way it is just a little loud. I will alternate between the JPX 850 and MP 650 throughout the year. I also think I'm going to go with the veylix arcane tipped an inch in the MP 650. Can't wait to try it!!

Well, you can't go wrong with the irons from a company with 100+ years of forging experience. Nobody makes a better iron IMO. The drivers/woods.... I wrote a bit more below, but at one point in the past few years, I had about 14-15 drivers from a bunch of OEMs. As of this post, what I've got left is 3 650s, 1 850, a TI Adams 9064, a Bombtech Grenade, and a beat-a$$ TI '09 Burner. You can probably see a pattern in what I keep. Over 50% Mizzy.

Mizzy started making fully legit drivers (IMO) that could keep up with anything with the MP 600- the original Fast Track/sliding weight system. They don't do an ounce of marketing with their woods so people (mistakenly/ignorantly) didn't/don't think much of them. It's the old "Oh, they're just an iron company and their woods suck" line of BS backed up by absolutely no good data to support it. People that hit the woods are more often impressed than not.

It's pretty funny. Over the past few years, I've been asked by Mizuno to work demo days as a tech rep (I don't get a paycheck- I just love the toys and make sure I'm educated on every OEM and have hit everything from everyone so I have first hand experience). When I speak with folks hitting the irons, I ask what woods/driver they're hitting. They all tell me and I invite them to get whatever they're hitting, come on back and hit it head to head with whatever model Mizzy had that year. I've never seen one get shown up. Now the funnier thing is that most are very impressed with it, but rarely buy it because of the name. Well, up until this year. The 850 line has been back-ordered a few times so far. I had to wait for mine.

Within the past few years, the drivers have been below the radar hammers! Give them a try and compare them to your stuff.

Jet! Let me know how those hit!

HA! I've been following you on the Mizzy Facebook page as well. Looking good! Similar costumes for sure. I loved the EZ woods. They're cannons off the tee with their bigger heads. Almost cheating.

It is a really sharp bag and very functional! I had to buy one and its all DW's fault!!! However I absolutely love it so for that I thank him! Simple but very nice looking. Especially with all Mizuno sticks in it!
