What is the best "Ping Zing" type putter?

The Gun Blue Cameron Lagunas are gorgeous, and there's one in the BST right now. The Redwood Zing looks great at address (I liked the finish a lot more than I expected), and for what it's worth, it putted great in the store.

 

 

I think the gun blue Scotty Cameron Lagunas are the cat's pajamas. My Dad has gamed one since 1997 and no puuter has ever come close to pulling his laguna out of the bag. Very simple, clean lines, and it's tough to beat the feel of carbon steel. At 330g, they're a little light for some, but since it has a lot of toe hang, it actually feels heavier than other 330g putters with less toe hang.

@GoBuffs11thanks for sharing ... reviving a thread that's been dormant for 15+years = admirable! I seem tto have a craving for 'Zing' styles too... so genuinely interested!

 

I think @RobotDoctor had a Byron Morgan zing-style copper/long-pipe neck (Quote: "carbon steel copper plated Epic Day with long pipe neck is simply the best putter I have ever gamed")
... but haven't successfully found photos, via a simple search... maybe he will see this post & share photos?

The Zing style seems to be making a small comeback within custom putter makers, I guess a lot of people are itching for a modern one. Few companies that offer a Zing style:

 

* Sink Golf

* 3DP Design/National Custom Works

* Legend Golf Co

* MackMade Putters

 

Here's the MackMade version which I currently have just for possibility of having a LH version made.

 

 

I will also add I saw Ping will be doing a PLD 55 release with the Zing 2 and even PAL 4 in this.

I'm still using an Odyssey white ice 2 that is this head shape. I bought it probably 15-20 years ago. I've never actually known what the head shape was called and for all these years been looking for something similar. I love the odyssey but it has an insert that i'd rather be just straight metal.

Anyone know approximate weight of the head on this? It's feather light to me and I need 6 layers of lead tape to get it where I like it.

 Slightly different version but the zing 5 becu was 350.

So I put a pingman cord grip on the zing 2 with some lead tape on the bottom and I think this grip is too skinny for me and the blade of it is longer than I'm used to. 

 

The odyssey white ice 2 with grip drip grip will stay in the bag this year.

@GoBuffs11 Any "after" photos of your TM project?

I've always thought that "agsi+" insert was quite nice feeling (so admittedly gasped to see you skewer/ de-face that putter!)

Ha sorry for any distress I’ve caused. Spryevo is making me a copper insert with milled grooves.
