Who is going to win the Masters?

Ok. We all know the safe bet to win the Masters is Tiger. I agree. Lets just say he stubs his toe and shanks his irons all week and misses the cut. Phil has a chance to win, but thinks about his debacle last summer and chokes again. I have a few dark horse picks. Considering difficulty of the course and the need for experience and course knowledge, I would go with Chris Dimarco if the course is dry and fast. Jim Furyk could be there, but I don't think this course fits him and his style as well. If the course is long and wet, Henrik Stenson is really playing well and may be a force to be reckoned with. Do you guys have anybody you like that is not Tiger or Phil?

I'd have to say the golf course wins every year. That course beats every tour pro out there.

Unless they get rain and the greens are receptive, Donald doesn't flight the ball high enough to be a serious threat on that course. If you can't hoist long irons way up in the air, it's going to be a long day(or short week) at Augusta. He'll have way to much work to do on, and around the greens.

 

 

 

I hope he proves me wrong because I really like his game, but I just can't see him winning there.

I have to disagree. Just look at this list of names in the top 25 of last year.

 

Clark, Campbell, Goosen, Olazabal, Cabrera, Jimenez, Clarke, Pampling, Ames and Verplank. In fact the guys who finished 2nd and 3rd (Clark & Campbell) hit the ball very low with their irons. Most players who have enjoyed success hit the ball very low at Augusta. It has alot to do with the swirling winds that plaque the grounds of Augusta. Rarely do you see an iron shot reach much higher than tree height. Just check out http://www.masters.org and look at the past few years results and check out the number of players in the top 25 year in and year out who don't hit the ball high.

 

Of course Tiger is able to flight his ball just about any way he wants to. (cool)
