Web.com tourney had great coverage of Max Homa and a bunch of others off the tee with it. Sounds pretty good coming thru the tv.

How would you compare it to the 910 or 913?

Covert tour 2.0 and 915d3 have a similar shape. SIMILAR....

I actually hate the shape of the Covert. The upper half looks like it's going to be pear shaped, but the bottom half is too fat. If you trimmed it around the Nike logo, it would look much better.

Both the 913D3 (left) and 910D3 (right) look better than the Covert

Hard to tell thru the tv. Def pretty good sound though. Sounds like a firmer 913 which lines up with some of the early tour reviews about the face feeling harder. Can't be certain until we all see/hear in person I guess.

And from the PGA site ...

As far as similarities go, the 915 still has the classic 913 head design, Titleist's SureFit hosel that allows golfers to adjust the loft, lie angle and face angle, and an adjustable weight in the rear portion of the head for swing weight purposes.
Titleist also stuck with the high gloss crown finish but added an updated version of the traditional alignment aid.

The 915D2, typically known as the more forgiving, higher spinning of the two models, appears to still have a full pear-shaped head, while the 915D3, the less forgiving, low spinning option still has a shorter head and deeper face.

Former No. 1-ranked amateur Patrick Cantlay was one of the first players to test the 915 driver on Monday morning and mentioned to Titleist Tour rep Chris Tuten that the club was definitely firmer at impact and didn't feel nearly as soft off the face as the 913 driver. Cantlay also noted that he liked the higher launch angle and how the ball wasn't rising rising on him.

South African Tyron Van Aswegen, who finished tied for 26th at the Travelers Championship, told Titleist Tour reps he was really excited to get a new driver at Congressional. So excited, in fact, that he said it was going straight in the bag after a Monday morning test session.

Van Aswegen told Titleist Tour reps that the driver was lower spinning, had a higher launch and was more solid off the face than his previous driver.

I'd actually agree with this. The Covert 2.0 pear isn't quite as "nice" as the 913 D3, I keep picking it up to try in the store but never liked the shape of it. All we have for reference are these pictures, but the 915 D3 definitely looks slightly different in shape from the 913 D3 as well.

This is the problem with golf coverage. I'm sitting here watch everyone in the world putt. I have no idea how any of them get to the green, they never show that part. BORING COVERAGE SUCKS!!
I'm about to give up on the coverage. I think I've only seen 2 par 3s and about 90% green coverage. Haven't seen a single driver.

The coverage will be much better today with Tiger on... They will actually have to get their cameras out.

They can still get coverage on Tiger on every hole without tee shots. The good news is that Spieth is playing with him, so we should get to see the 915 in action.

I love the head shape of the Covert. If the 915 has a slight redesign to be closer to the covert's design I'll love it. I like how the covert's crown curves more sharply down towards the sole which makes it look more compact.

I just don't understand the Titleist love, they rebadge a Nike VR driver and everyone is in love. Their brand loyalty truly is amazing. Aside from their premium balls I have always thought their innovation is second class. Not hating, just can't believe how strong the brand loyalty is.
Your probably right, they are not out front on the cutting edge.

Flatter lie angles, tighter loft tolerances ( 8.5* is +/- half degree of actual loft, not 8.5* is a 10 like some OEM's) arguably the best off the rack shaft choices, adjustment system available is second to none, maybe they arent on the cutting edge, but all around performance for a player who needs not a 61* driver to cure a slice but a club that is going to perform consistently on a good swing go no further than Titleist.

It will be interesting to see if Adam Scott has it in the bag come his next tournament, I'm going to say no as I believe his next start is the Open and he has been doing very well with his 913. I'm sure he has been practicing with it a fair bit back home in the Bahamas.

Agreed on most points... Being cutting edge doesn't mean being best, it just means experimenting more. As I previously stated Apple hasn't been cutting edge the past 20 years either. Callaway has publicly acknowledged, on Golfwrx that they had 1.5* on top of their stated loft because consumers aren't as good as they think they are; a certain #1 on tour driver has a variance of +/-3* on drivers. I hope that sliding weight helps you hit that 13* driver lol.

Titleist has the brand loyalty because they produce a high quality product with no promises. They don't promise 10-17 more yards, or don't tell you it's the longest driver in the history of the world... On their site titleist claims: precision made, superior sound and feel, more speed over a larger area of the face from previous models. With a Titleist driver you get what you pay for and get the performance that you earn.

I guess Titleist is like with Apple. They are rarely "first movers" with anything, but they are still very popular. They take what others have done, and do it in their own way. Which is pretty smart. By being first doesn't mean you are the best. For myself I play Titleist because I was raised with that brand and our National Team, which I am a member of, is also sponsored by Titleist, which means we get really good prices if not for free, so I haven't really considered any other brand.

I doubt I will ever go away from Titleist, but if I do it would be for Wilson.

I think you both are on crack, side by side they look almost exactly the same in shape. The difference is color and I think that swoosh is effecting your eyes. The Covert 2.0 is the prettiest driver right now next to the 913 D3. They are the only two drivers I like at the moment.

Pegged it, Nike has been copying the shape for some time. They deviated a little with the Covert 1.0 line, but got back to it on the second line. Not a surprise that Rory, Nick Watney and Tiger all took to the 2.0 a LOT faster.

Relax, the driver is beautiful with obvious attention to detail, and quality control that is not in question. I would just like to see Titleist take more risks, maybe introduce two lines of drivers one geared toward more traditional, conservative players like the current models, but why not take some chances or experiment with other product lines much like Ping with the g/i series and then the seperate Rapture line with more bold designs and concepts. In my opinion Titleist could have a monopoly on the golf industry much like their ball market if they pushed the innovation limits some. Just a pity to see 3+ year old technology just now finding its way to Titleist flagship drivers.

I would like a 915D3 ASAP, next tour stop Greenbrier, ill have to follow the Titleist Tour Truck, little B&E action. Anyone know the following; 1. "Club Ho'ing" a valid defense in a court of law , 2. in Federal Pen, Theft of $400 in most states along with B&E will net me a felony or two, 8x10 cell enough to swing a club and get a trackman into (well trackman is prob contraban)

Oh well, November it is......
