I'm also interested in the proper way to cotton ball my 915d2. Is there a "how to" somewhere on here?

Shaft question:
I'm gaming the Rogue Black 70 and I like it quite a bit but I kind of want a higher launch without moving to a tip-soft shaft.
I'm thinking a Rogue Black 60 or an ADDI 6s.

Would either of those accomplish what I'm after?

More loft is the best way to achieve what you seeking.

Agreed...except I'm already playing a 12* head at 13.5*.
If Titleist ever makes a 460cc 14* I'll be first in line.

Then a more positive AoA will help. Cheaper too my friend! :derisive:

Anyone that has done this, did you put something under the lead tape to preserve paint fill?
Anyone?????
The tape shouldn't harm the paintfill when you pull it off, if there's residue don't scrub it off with acetone as that will remove the paintfill. If the paintfill is pulled out it is pretty simple to buy some white painte and re-paint it yourself.

How do you compare the spin rates of the 915 D2 and D3 with the R15 460 and 430?

 • 3 weeks later...

I have the D2 and although the sound is not ideal, I find it ball dependent. Hit 4 different balls the other day in a round (20xi-S, RBZ Urethane, Srixon XV, Prov1x). The 20xi-S had a VERY loud aluminum bat sound. The other 3 were similar, not as loud, but still louder than my Amp Cell. MIght have something to do with the resin core.

anyone else notice that the D3 spins much less then the D2 and goes significantly further? compared them yesterday and the D3 goes 15 yards further every time

been gaming the d2 with a rogue 60 stiff shaft, and i'm pretty happy with it. but i'm asking myself, if i might be better of with a lighter shaft.
my swingspeed with the driver is around 96-100.
does anyone has any experience with a lighter shaft?

yes rogue silver 60 stiff in both in the B3 setting. 2 full rounds with 4 balls off each tee, results were very obvious.

I went for a fitting at Celtic manor and got spec'd up for a 915d2, 8.5degree, 70g stiff diamana whiteboard. Not the longest driver I've hit but the combo of forgiveness and length is awesome.
Also got a 915fd 15deg with 80g whiteboard and a 915hd 17.5degree with 90g whiteboard.

Already bought the 3w and hybrid and borrowed a demo d2 to take out on the course last week. I couldn't miss with it, even bad shots were playable, and good shots were great. Won longest drive with a 335yard poke which was massive for me (downwind ;). The 3w and hybrid were amazing. I had so much confidence with them all. The driver is now on order.

Loving my new top end of the bag.

Tried a D+60 in S Flex and went from 105 to 109 (D+ 70x topped out at 107). Ordered the 60 TX today, untipped to try.

My set up with the 915 d3 8.5 vs the R15 430 (speeder 757x ts) is just as low or lower than the TMAG product.

I just picked up a 915 D3 9.5 and it will be interesting to see how it compares to the R15 460 9.5 I have. Thought about getting an 8.5 but I couldn't resist the deal on the 9.5 I found.

I've got both it 9.5 and they are both really good. They're both fairway finders, very forgiving and they're consistently longer than anything I've had before.

Played my first round since tipping my DI 6S and it was a monster in my D3 head. My best driving round so far this year. Only missed one fairways and it was giving me the perfect flight as well as a bit more distance. Very pleased with it now.

I found the same as well, same shaft swapped and same loft...I was about 15 yards further with the d3 or more, it spun quite a bit less for me although surprisingly not much less than my g30. I'm getting fit for a d3 tomorrow I'll see if the results are any better than my g30, I booked it a while ago and have been driving it amazing so I thought about cancelling but hey...a ho is a ho.

In the end the G30 was sold and the 915 is the champ. My home course has lots of right to left holes where if you can hit a borderline hook you get massive distance and roll. The 915 is much better at that and it also feels and sounds WAY better.
