i.e. expect to pay through the nose for our JDM clubs.
[/quote]Not necessarily always the case. Most JDM that I have dealt with offer great aftermarket shaft choices that are included in the component price. For example I paid $275 for my Miura HB3 with tour spec shaft. That same combo would of been 375+ on a retail ping i25. i25 Hyb= $225 + $150 upgraded shaft= $375. JDM is actually more bang for the buck over anything being offered USDM.

But it so happens that I get better numbers with mass produced China gear right now.

And the Miura HB pricing has probably gone up since I purchased a few years ago.

I have been desperately trying to find conforming replacements for my Sonartec 56 bent to 54 and 60 degree wedges. I think these are great wedges and was determined to use Sonartec wedges forever. Unfortunately, Sonartec went out of business prior to 2010 and have no conforming wedges. I recently read the story of Sonartec to see why a company with such great products didn't last. It was a sad story.

I was astonished to find this post. I searched 'sonartec back' after seeing a brand new Sonartec wedge on ebay. It was actually the older brand that had never been used and was still in the plastic. I thought maybe they are back and it was a new model which led me here. I was so excited to hear they are back.

My excitement subsided a little after I read the description of the only wedge I saw at the link above. It seems to be non-conforming. If it is conforming, it is probably not a good idea to advertise sharp grooves. It looks like they only have black nickel. It's not bad, but I prefer a satin finish wedge with limited badging. The other thing I noticed is that it is made in China. Sonartec doesn't appear to be the same brand it used to be. It is more like the low end RC brand now instead of the US version of RC. I would still give it a try if I could find out how to purchase it.

I know I don't have to get conforming wedges now, but I just got new irons and want to complete the set.

sonartec/royal collection had a huge problem with so many oems out there, not really impressed anymore. Taylor made is way ahead of them in every facet of the game and technology is miles ahead, the rocketballs hybrids and fairways were and r great

don't understand the first sentence and i disagree that Taylor made are way ahead.....they may be for. you but i couldn't look down on those saucepan lids and expect to hit a good shot, you are probably a better golfer than me though....

Eh...technology? Dude, we're talking golf here...not saying it's irrelevant but it's kinda like comparing the paint used by artists from the 1700's to now, sure artists today have more options but the paints and brushes don't make a great work of art... craftsmanship does, you can't compare the mass produced stuff to precision forging with hand crafted finishing...in any case the tech available via the jdm market is at least 2 years ahead of anything available at your local golfsmith...

Anyway, I'd play rc over taylormade any day...hit a friends tmag latest rocket booster super blaster mega turbo velocity slotso or whatever they call those silly looking excuses for gear today...ball went about the same as w my 103..the sound and feel was disgusting...

Look into Royal Collection wedges, it's the next closest thing, same company. I had a 58* that used for 4 years before wearing the finish out and gave it to my brother. It was a very good wedge, forged and can be had for cheap new on ebay.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
