I once saw an add for a "driver" who's head opened up to be a battery powered weed Wacker lol
For a little while a couple of years ago i was having a case of the rights with the driver so badly I considered adding a Stihl no 5 chainsaw to the bag to get out of jail.

You're all set, once the epoxy sets Pigs. Coat the shaft tip sparingly. Too much and the epoxy will ooze out the top of the adaptor. If it does ooze, be sure to wipe off the excess immediately as it will dry black and its a pain to remove.

Did you purchase the plunging gun as well?

I use a similar epoxy and gun that is produced by the Golfworks. I wouldn't be shocked if it's produced by the same manufacturing. Packaging looks similar.

If you look at the package there is a piece of 'equipment' next to the epoxy. That two-pronged piece of plastic fits into a 'plunger' that is used to extrude the epoxy evenly. If you are going to insert and push manually be sure to apply even pressure, otherwise you may not mix the two parts of epoxy appropriately. Could affect your bond.

So don't smoke it Pigs ; )

The warnings on the lead powder bottle scared me as well. Club building can be hazardous to your health if you don't take proper precautions. Safety first. Think of the children.

Well I got the G20 head separated from the shaft no problem, just need to bring home my heat gun tomorrow night from work to remove the tip from the shaft. What temp do I set the gun to in order to break the epoxy without melting the shaft?? I've only removed iron heads and steel shafts with a torch before.

Pigs,

I don't want to lead you down an incorrect path with the pulling of the adaptor. I've never seen that attachment and wouldn't know how to remove it without potentially damaging the tip. I've only removed TM adaptors and was able to follow a 'how-to' that Kadin published for WRX. I'd suggest you post the pictures in the ClubWRX Forum and see what the knowledgeable members have to say. I use low heat and a graphite shaft puller when I remove a head/adaptor from a shaft. You call tell when the bond breaks because a distinct odor is released.

PD, and everyone else as well for that matter, what length do you guys play your fairway woods at?? And driver??
I currently play my woods at the following lengths:

Driver - 43.5"
Fairway Driver/3 wood - 42.5"
4 wood - 42"
5 wood - 41.5"

This Wishon article found on the dashboard, and part of a mini-series, may provide a bit of insight. I've read two of Mr. Wishon's books and subscribe to the philosophy. Obviously, highly personal at the end of the day. The impact tape should allow you to 'fine tune' the lengths.

That's the article that's got me all hyped up to cut down my clubs lol, I'm even thinking about shortening my irons potentially. More research is needed before I cut things but I'm most likely going to at some point.

hanks for the reminder too, I'll post it in there and I'm sure someone has delta with one before :)

Pigs,

My G25 Driver and 4W are at stock, 45.75"(D3) and 43"(D1). Also will play my Heavenwood at stock 43" ("will" as it hasn't really had course time yet), but my fitter added a bit of headweight to bring it up to D2, as it was even lighter than the specs of D0, at about C9.

They are at that length largely due to the stock light shafts or I'd be in trouble with SW as keeping my tempo is the challenge. Need to feel the head.

For a couple of years I played my R11s at 1/2" shorter but that was as I could easily add TMag weights to the head and later on I just went with a heavier shaft. I played it at the lowest D3, highest D5-6.

If I was reshafting again, I'd look at shorter and a bit heavier, but the stock G25 ones for now seem fine as is. Heavenwood is on probation.

I'm 5'9" and to feel comfy over the ball my arms feel like they hang a little low, I get better ball striking when I choke up as I've been experimenting lately with choking up. As of now all my club are standard length/lie.
Driver 46"
3w 43"
5w 42.25"
4h 39.75"
5i 38"
6i 37.5"
7i 37"
8i 36.5"
9i 36"
Pi 35.75"

I'm not sure about shortening my irons just yet, I may experiment with flatter lie angles before shorter shafts. But woods for sure and maybe hybrid will be getting shorter. Just gotta figure out by how much :)

My mind changes faster than the weather in Nova Scotia, and we have an old saying here, "If you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes" lol :slow_en:

But i can't see me convincing my wife I need to be custom fitted for new club any time soon, half my bag hasn't played outdoors yet even lol.

Mine are about .5" longer, but that's again largely to keep up SW with my lightweight steelfibre.

It depends how much you cut it down, I've taken up to an inch of other drivers without adding any weight back with no issues. More than that and you might have to add a bit of weight back to the head. I'm about to find out though as soon as my second shaft tip gets here this week sometime. :)

Some of these other more knowledgeable fellows could probably give you more info on the subject :)

The jetspeed has a removable weight in the head doesn't it?? If so your good to go, you can add the weight back there rather than lead tape or other methods :)

I have a Jetspeed, they always talk about it being long and light, but I feel I don't have near the control I did with my previous driver... Would cutting down benefit me or would it hurt me with the weight? Would the weight change that much?
Welcome to the forums. Suggest you look at the pinned thread, Swingweight in Relation To Parts near the top of the Clubmakng Forum.

Cutting down an inch changes swingweight roughly 6 points, which can be significant, half an inch 3 points etc.
Like Pigems said, some folks don't notice. There are are also ways to try the idea of a shorter club without actually cutting it first. Big issue and lots of good info on here if you look at the thread I suggest and do some other searches.
