Old Sandwich

Had the pleasure of being invited to Old Sandwich last week. Does anyone make a better course right now than Crenshaw & Coore? If you're lucky enough to get an invite, DO NOT pass it up!!!

I have heard great things about this place and it certainly looks amazing. Having played #2 after the Coore & Crenshaw renovation I have nothing but good thoughts about the work they do.

A question- I heard from someone who played Old Sandwich that they didn't enjoy it. Needless to say I was surprised. The basic complaint was that it was too hard/unfair. Any truth to that? My gut tells me no, but I was curious

Ok so where's the hookup? Haha. I stay in Sandwich with a buddy often, we usually go out to Cranberry Valley and Falmouth, but I'd love to branch out. He lives like 500 yards from The Ridge Club, so that taunts me every time I go.

It's supposedly a great track but a really tough course to get access to. I have played pretty much all of the top MA courses but this one eludes me. I know a few members at my club who have managed to get invites and they say it is stunning.

I have played a Crenshaw/Coore course in a Pinehurst. It's called The Dormie Club and it was spectacular and really fun to play.

It's actually in Plymouth -really close to Pinehills

It was challenging but fair...decent room off the tee but some difficult greens, think modern day Ross false edges. We played the "composite tees" which is a combo of the tips and next set up, about 6700 yards on a par 71...shot 83, I play at a 7 handicap. Tough, but fair and enjoyable!!!

Got to play Old Sandwich yesterday totally lived up to all the hype. Only bummer greens were arerated a week or so ago. If you have played Bandon Trails and Wekopa Saguaro also Coore and Crenshaw courses you can see some similarities.
