Talked to my buddy who has played southern dunes twice since the heavy rains, he said it is in PURE SHAPE but to bring bug spray, skeeters are pretty bad.

That is truth I have been there several times this month... The mosquitos love that place...especially since they have been heavily irrigating all summer to get the new turf where they removed bunkers to take. BRING BUG SPRAY!

That being said the course is playing great and the bunkers are Sweet.

Played Southern Dunes today. Actually got randomly partner'd up with Joselo. The course is in great condition. They are still working on the surroundings of the back 9 but the tee box, fairways and greens were awesome. LOTS OF BUNKERS! They dictate every hole and how you play it. Sand was really soft and fluffy. I'm used to the pre-cement mix they have at Vistal so it was a nice change up. The beekeeper suit might not be a bad option. These mosquitoes are militant and organized. They laughed at my Deet.

Front 9 was really hot and humid. Back nine was really windy and rainy. It showed up out of no where too. Next weekend should be a great time. Looking forward to meeting the rest of you guys.

I was getting swarmed by the gnats or baby mosquitoes at wekopa. I rubbed the scented iced towel they gave me over my legs etc seemed to help actually

Ok heres the pairings/tee times for this sunday. Everyone is locked in and paid, we've got an even 16 players.

As stated, the range will be closed, so if youre dead set on hitting balls before you play, might want to pop on over to the Duke before hand. Or just take a mully off the first tee, I wont tell anyone that your 59 was actually a 61.
