Cart Bag help.

Recommended Posts

I have always owned a carry/stand bag, but always ride now, never owned a cart bag. I also live outside town a bit, can't just run 5 minutes to a local shop.

I need a solid bag with a big enough putter well for SS 3.0, full length dividers (14), and just some room for balls, tees, rain suit, extra gloves. I don't really need a cooler pocket or anything too fancy. I have also heard that some bags, even with the full dividers can be a pain to get clubs out, like they get hung up of something. I would not do well with that.

Is Sun Mountian the only way to go? Is the C130 the best option? Anyone own the S1 or Sync?

Thanks for any feedback.

If it's primarily for riding carts, C130 is the best available in my opinion, you'll be happy with it. If you want something to go mostly on a push cart but occasionally a riding cart, the Sync is a better option. They are almost identical though.

The putter well should be easily big enough for the SS grip. The cooler pocket isn't very big, and if you don't use it it won't be in the way. I use larger than standard grips on all my clubs, and never have any issues getting clubs in or out. Either SM bag has tons of room for rain suits, etc.

Thanks.

I see they have a new bag out for 2015, The Phantom, looks solid and is $199.

Looks interesting. look like they made a more waterproofed version. I wonder why it isn't on the sun mountain website?

Here is a link from a golf store, says it ships 9/15.

Traverse is the smaller version. I considered it, but the sidepockets hold almost nothing IMO. I went for the Pioneer that is the best bag for my Clicgear I 've ever had for stability. OP, it does have a large cooler pocket, ( that I guess you could use for othe things), 14 way dividers that go all the way down and no probs with sticking since I've had it since April, with midsize grips till recently. I use a superstoke 2.0 with no prob in the well, so i can't see a 3.0 only .1 inch wider being a prob. Deep rangefinder pocket. Just to save time I use the clicgear rangefinder accessory when walking to grab it one-handed. But I leave it unzipped while riding and it's deep enough I have no concerns of my Z6 rangefinder faling out.

Pioneer is one great bag, big, but I stock lots of odds and sods bug sprays etc. so I don't even think about needing to add stuff for a trip or the unexpected.

Absolutely. I have been using one for 4 years or so (along with a Hoofer and 4 Series). Works great on a cart or Clicgear. I thing it has plenty of room while being relatively light. The newer versions appear to be even better than the one I have.

I am down to 3 I think. I can get a 2014 Titlest lighweight for $178 shipped, a 2014 C130 for $182 shipped, or the New 2015 SM Phantom for $199 shipped.

Thanks for the info...

Still deabting this damn purchase...

C-130 is out, do not need anything that big. I have done more research, taken price into consideration also.

I have 5 choices now. Any feedback from owners would be appreciated.

2. 2014 SM S-One - Black - $169 shipped
3. 2015 SM Phantom black - $199 shipped
4. 2014 Ogio Pisa - white/charcoal - $130 shipped (found today, and added).
5. Ogio Shredder - $85 shipped - 2 day(found today)

I placed my order. The guy at SM, said the oversized putters need to be pulled stargiht up, or will snag inside (S-one, Phantom), and the coupon for the S-one expired so it is $199 again.

The Titleist coupon expired aslo.

I got some really good feedback from 2 members on the Ogio Pisa, and at $130 shipped, can't go wrong.

I have a Super Stroke 3.0 on my putter and there is room to spare in the putter well of my C-130. So I would have no worries with the Phantom as it looks like the same top and putter well.

[sub]I grabbed the Ogio Pisa, was only $100 after using an e-bay coupon I had. I got the bag today, am quite pleased. It appears to be exactly what I was looking for.[/sub]

Interested in the SM Sync as well. Do clubs rattle around quite a bit while it's riding on the push/riding cart??
Not for me, dont get hardly any rattle......not sure what Sun Mountain have done with the 2015 Sync though, it looks like the top is like the C-130 which is reverse orientation???...strange for a push cart bag, i'm using the 2014 Sync on my Clicgear 8.0, fits and works perfectly....
