I'll expand more on my full review and after I get more time in with my clubs when they arrive..

Initial thoughts are the Vapor Pro has more bounce and a more forgiving grind, digs less and overall more playable.. Definitely more forgiving on mishits. Feel is subjective.. I wouldn't say they stuck me as being ultra soft, but feel is in line with the VR Pro's. The PC's are very different from the VR version. Less blade-like more like a version between the 714CB and AP2, if that makes any sense. Definitely hotter off the face than the previous PC, thicker top line, wider soles, and I felt they were much more forgiving and longer. These have a different feel than the previous model, but feel great.
As usual, Tai is right on the money.

The only part opinion I caution is the wider sole part. Are the soles wider than a blade..any blade? YES!

Are they wider than say the AP2? No way.

Plus the cambered sole makes the Vapor PC very versatile

Your mini write ups on the Vapor PCs is exactly what I was hoping to hear.

I think there are two types of better players. The type that prefer Blade or 2014 PC's, and those that don't.

Here is why I say that.

Last year at the Oven they built me a set of 2014 PC's and I played them for 4 months.

My HC went from 1.8 to 0.4.

But I lost distance, forgiveness, and consistency. My bad rounds were so much worse. And my good rounds were a little better. Enough to lower my HC.

But the ball rarely seemed to be in the "window" that I expected to see. And I was uncomfortable.

So I went back to my VRS Forged (After nearly ordering a set of 714 AP2).

Well with the VPC, I HAVE IT ALL.

That window is back. I can miss and have a putt for birdie. But now I can play a feel shot too.

I hit the Vapor pro and while it looked and felt nice, it was like the 2014 PC. Just wasn't in the right window. FOR ME.

Now I'd bet Tai hit the VPC and said precisely the same thing to himself. It probably launched too high and too hot. Just guessing.

I hope this makes some sense.

Scott thanks for all your detailed answers. Did you every think of getting the speed 3 iron for your set?

Wow! I'm excited to hear about that. It was hard going from Titleist 681 to AP2. Then I couldn't go from AP2 to MM Proto... So back to the AP2. But if this is right in the middle this might be the one!

Tai, this might be too simplistic but:

SLDR 460 = Vapor Pro ( but Pro launches higher and more forgiveness)

SLDR 430 = VAPOR FLEX ......or is the original Covert Tour more of a comparison?
Tai is the expert, but (of course) I have had the SLDR on trackman as well.

I would say the Pro launches higher, is more forgiving, but spins about 300 RPM more than SLDR.

Also has approx. 1000 higher MOI!

SLDR 430 is even lower MOI but Flex shape is also different. The Flex is more shallow with a larger footprint than 430 in my opinion,

AGAIN. Tai has FAR more experience than me in this department!

No Scotty....this is kinda what figured. ..but 430 vs flex, despite their intrinsic differences, performance is similar? I think flex SHOULD be slightly more forgiving. ....

Cool little story today.

Another top 5 player at my club who played MP30 until this year when he went 714 AP2 asked to hit my VPC irons.

He was so enamored with them that he ordered a set on the spot. That after playing just two other sets in 7 years.

They are that good.
I may be doing the same thing after buying the 714 AP2 after coming home from a deployment earlier this year. I played the original
AP2 iron since 2008.
I will be honest.

It is hard to imagine that Nike has found a way to have the opportunity to convert a devoted Titleist play like yourself.

But you would be doing yourself and your handicap a disservice by not so much as giving these a shot.

For me, the difference is this.

My bad swings with the 430 SLDR were OFF THE PLANET (which is pretty bad for 100MPH SS)

My bad swings with flex were not acceptable to me (Hence the PRO in my bag) but NOTHING like the SLDR. Like right rough VS OB.

I sold my 2010 PCs after an injury and went back to the vr pro cavity(cost). I am back down to a 7 hdc and cannot wait to get the pro cavs replaced. I played some of my best golf with the pcs and am pumped about the VPCs.

I'm glad to hear what your saying about the VPC's @scottvw13.

Still fighting myself between my 2011 PC vs CF. It's like they get rotated weekly in and out of the bag.

CF are way easier to hit yet I seem to play much better golf with the PC's. It's painful.

Really looking forward to hitting the new irons, both the VP and VPC, and if they look as good at address and play as good as you say then I know what will be happening.

Thanks.

The OG VR Pro Combo irons (and VR Pro blades for that matter) had a very distinct Endo forged feel. DO the Vapor PC/Blades still have that characteristic?

Not at clicky as Titleist but not as soft as Mizuno - a very quality forging in my mind. They felt great. Very dense and the sound they made in your carry bag as you walk was very distinct - the clacking together was musical.

Bit of a noob question here but I can't find it anywhere! Are all the drivers 460cc?
Speed and Pro are 460
Flex is 420/430
Good to know the pro is 460. Will test all 3 out, but I am sure that will be my driver of choice.
If the pro is an improved version of the CT2.0 I'll be in the same boat.

Scott, thanks for the review. I was initially sold on the Vapor PCs but decided to hold off ordering a set when I saw the pic of the new RSi TPs. With that said, your review makes me want to order a set ASAP.

Not sure if you ever played the MCs but how would you compare the footprint and forgiveness between the two.

Titleist Tsi2 - 15*

Callaway Apex 20*

Srixon ZX 7 4-PW

Cleveland Zipcore 54* & 58*

I'm glad to hear what your saying about the VPC's @scottvw13.

Still fighting myself between my 2011 PC vs CF. It's like they get rotated weekly in and out of the bag.

CF are way easier to hit yet I seem to play much better golf with the PC's. It's painful.

Really looking forward to hitting the new irons, both the VP and VPC, and if they look as good at address and play as good as you say then I know what will be happening.

Thanks.
If the original PC's and CF had a baby, it would be the VPC.

Just sell them both and preorder the VPC. Trust me.

Scott and Tai - here is one for you guys.

Any idea how the blades in the PC set compare to the pro blades, aside from the lofts? I know they are different but I haven't really read anything about their differences.

I do like that the pc set offers an a wedge.

COMPLETELY different.

From the 7 up the VPC is a one piece forging, But a cavity. Not a blade.

The great thing is that it is as easy to flight and fill gaps as a blade. But designed to fill the gaps with the rest of the set

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
