Do you have any specs on the c10's?

C10 S 37" is 132.7 grams. The X was 136.8 grams.

Nippon scrapped all their extras. I have a stash of "worst case scenario" shafts in the closet. What is in the wild is all there will ever be. The X flex was a stout beast of a shaft, super heavy feeling. Very much like a DG X7 in wedge shaft form. I couldn't really get it to load and the weighting felt like I really had to work on smaller chips/bump n runs to motivate the head to move forward.

The S on the other hand, I will never play another wedge shaft other than C10 S. I've been using it in my 56° for around 4 years now. I told Nippon to release it as a new "Modus Wedge 130" it is that good. Excellent weight and feel. It feels more balanced and smooth than the X. I really like it on explosion bunker shots when you take a fuller swing and the heft muscles through thick grass and sand nicely. I really think they can convert a lot of S400 users with this shaft. And it pairs really well with the Tour125 shaft IMO.

[/quote]So what you're saying is that Nippon has yet to release a wedge shaft available to the public that can compete with the s400. I liked the super peening blue shafts as a wedge shaft, but s400 just has that oomph.

I also dabbled with the modus 115, and while a great feeling shaft for finesse shots around the green, the impact/load was a bit too snappy/poppy for my preference.

So far early results are promising with 120x. I'm comparing to my other set with super peening oranges and they seem to have better feel and launch/spin a little higher.

Edited for wedge talk - I tried the 115 and 125 wedge shaft and noticed the same feel as MJ, I've got 120x in the 52 and 56 as well and they are working great.

I want to change out my wedge shafts, trying to decide if I want to do the 120x that I have in my 5-PW or go to the 125's

I have two new 2F15 proto wedge shafts but I don't have the proto Iron shafts. they were a bit too high launch and spin for the tour players so they were cut pretty quick. Just have to set an eBay watch to see if any pop up.

Uh, I didn't say that. I just said this shaft would play well for a lot of S400 users and convert some die-hards, it's that good. I think the SPO or SPB wedge shaft can be used by S400 users. SPB for a heavier muted feel (More like a Nippon WV125) or the SPO which is a bit like a lighter livlier S400 (More along the lines of Modus Wedge 125 IMO.) The Tour125 iron shaft is really great, a bit of a lower spinning s300/s400 IMO. Modus Wedge 125 is a bit too light for an S400 user I feel, it is a competitor to the Japan and Vokey staple S200.

A lot of love for the SPB but hardly any chatter on the Oranges.

Because this is wrx and we all
Need the lowest launch and lowest spin. In all seriousness if the spo's are like the spb's than you can't go wrong. They are great shaft's.

Firstly after reading almost the entire thread a big thanks to MJ and Mark for all their info!

I haven't had a chance to hit the Modus shafts in any weight, but my 6 iron SS is around 90-93 and have been playing X100 straight in for a few years. I would like similar spin but something that launches a bit higher. I like the weight of the x100 but I feel I have to swing harder to get the most out of them. Any recommendations?

The 130S looked to fit the bill but some say it feels heavier than the x100 and is a real beast of a shaft. How would the 125X compare to the x100?

I've never played x100, but I'd say start with the 125x straight in (demo). I think you'll get more of what you're looking for in comparison to your x100 with the 125 than the 130.

Specs and flight characteristics are Mark's alley, I'm more of a spectator like yourself.

The Blues remind me of a s300/s400, probably the closest Nippon shaft to the s300/s400/x100 that Nippon has released.

Performance wise I don't notice too much of a difference between the blue and the 125 I now play. The difference is in the feel, the 125 is a fluent shaft with maybe a bit higher flight, but nothing too extreme. Blues felt hefty, 125's feel alive. A fluent, alive and consistent piece of steel.

I always liked the 1150GH shafts and noticed that you mentioned the 2F15 were a close match. I know the 125s have a stiff butt section like the 1150 but I am not sure how they compare flight wise.

Nippon Modus 125s S flex shaft. Wedge shaft tipped 1/4 inch. Tipping is totally against Nippon doctrine but anyone who has tried them mentions how great they are. Mizuno MP t 5 heads.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
