Allenby's original story is not completely true. He claimed that he was just repeating what others told him happened that night. I don't know for sure if he is lying (intentional) or just repeating what others told him (unintentional). Either way, his story is not completely accurate. No one on this board really knows for sure what all went down that night just yet.

I can be as cynical as the next guy when the situation calls for it. There was no reason to crucify Allenby before we knew the whole story. We still don't. Most of the comments directed at Allenby were "He's a fool; I never would have done that (lying)." Yeah right! This thread - while a ton of fun - is a case-study in how devoted us WRXers are to everything related to golf and how we have nothing better to do than discuss golf on and off the course in January.

I was only passing on what the Golf Channel said early on. Early on I said it's possible Allenby's story wasn't accurate. I said that day one on page 2. But by all means consider that halfway through. I don't see how you can call that completely buying into Allenby's story. You have your mind made up. Believe what you will. I don't think you are familiar with playing the devil's advocate and the difference between explaining why I thought Allenby said the things he did and my personal interpretation of Allenby's story. Some ideas of what happened that night were more outlandish than the claims Allenby himself has made. Those needed to be trashed.

In the real world, we'll never know the whole facts. We just know what people said and we make up our minds as to who is telling the truth. Allenby or the homeless woman. Many of us think the homeless woman is more credible. We hope Allenby conquers whatever demons he is battling. All of us wish we had Allenby's golf game and we would like to think we wouldn't waste our talent on fakakta escapades in Hawaii.
