I love my 2013 OnOff forged irons. Anyone know if they made a matching (cavity back) A wedge? Would love to find one. If not, I guess I can go with the blade style version...

There are no 2013 Kuros. The 2013 model is referred to as 2013 Forged.

 

The Kuro model did not appear until 2015.

 

For reference, the lofts for the 2013 Forged model are:

 

22.5*-4i

25*-5i

28-6i

31-7i

35-8i

40-9i

45-PW

 

Some of the sweetest irons you'll ever hit. Ever. Until you hit the 2015 Kuros that is.

What is the main difference between the 13 and 15 versions? It's about a $300 difference if buying a set of rakuten so needs to be significant!

I can't say that there is $300 worth of actual obtainable differences between the 2 sets. At least not as far as I'm concerned. They play virtually identical for me.

 

2015/2016 Kuros are slightly more compact than the 2013s. 2015s lean ever so slightly more toward a player's iron than the 2013. You'd be hard pressed to eye ball the difference but you do notice it on closer inspection.

 

Honestly, having both sets myself, I truly do not believe you can go wrong either way.

 

That being said, be aware the 2017 Kuros are a totally different beast from either set. Be sure which Kuro set you are buying.

How do the Nippon 950s work in these heads?

For a stock steel iron shaft, they are not half bad. I found them to be ok personally. I've put UST Recoils in both iron sets.

When you first get them, I think you'll probably find them quite adequate. You can always replace them later if need be.
