Yeah, I didn't have an issue either. Had previously made a time for 4/30 and called today to switch the rates to the April special, not a problem at all.

That's just odd. The lady on the phone was useless. She said she wasn't aware of an April special and she supposedly looked it up and said there were no discounts on the River Course. I have the worst luck with phone reps.

You obviously didn't read the other posts. Those specials listed on the site are wrong. Meadow Valleys and Irish were both $70, River course was $100 and Whistling Straits was $150

You caught me skimming, missed your post in the middle of page one, I'm surprised they haven't updated their website yet.

For what it's worth, I called yesterday to book a Kohler weekend for my wife and me in late May, and figured play the Straits when I'm there. The rate isn't as good as the big deals now but she still found a way to get me a good discount on the golf.

 

As far as the people on the phones being useless, I talked to two different people yesterday to try and set this weekend up and they were both phenomenal. Some of the best phone reps I've ever dealt with, dead serious.

No, this will be my first time. Right now I have Straits on Day 1, Irish on Day 2. I wanted to do River on Day 2 but I couldn't tee off early enough. I'll try to see if it opened up as the date gets closer. I'm also thinking about doing the Straits twice because I have no idea when I'll ever make it back.

Played the Irish and the Straits course yesterday. It looked like it was going to be an awful day but turned out to be blue skies but very cold and windy. We several holes with 4 club winds. I shot 78 on the straits last year with a triple on 18. This year shot 89 on Irish and 89 on Straits mostly bc I'm not as good but definitely tough conditions. Both courses were in awesome shape greens had been punched a few weeks ago but we're getting back to rolling very true. We had the same caddie for all 36 holes. He was a newer one only 2nd year there but was really good and had tons of hustle.

I haven't heard / read anything yet, but it does seem like the price to play the Straits went up. A regular 18 hole fee is now listed as " Starting at $410." When I played there right before the PGA in 2015, it was $365, plus caddy and tips.

Get on their mailing list. I live in Chicago and sometimes get stuff in the mail with special rates that aren't posted on the website.

Did you see one was the Original Championship Course at Blackwolf Run? That gives you some of the River Course

The original is a great course - that ends 4/20, wish they would extend that to the normal cut off date - 5/9. Not sure I'd make the drive from Chicago for the original though

I booked this rate last night, The only tee time may 6th was at 12:55, the weekend before they are having a "golf shootout" but there is a little more availability according to the rep.

FYI, i took advantage of the Original Blackwolf Run layout/opening rate last year in April when i went to my BiLs in MKE

 

Saturday we played The Bull for $55 (absolute steal of a deal). Sunday did Blackwolf Original, advertised rate online was $129 walking (same as this year). We used a cart and i bought a yardard book, towel and hat and all in it was $150. I dont specifically recall the green fee separately... but it was lower that was advertised online

We're playing 36 on 5/8. Straits in the AM and River in the afternoon. Then a long drive back to Chicago.

Nice resort. 10-20 mins to both Kohler golf locations.
