I've hit the 302 & I am currently ( just picked them up last night ) testing a CB57 7 iron with a KBS C - Taper Lite S flex & a CB57 6 iron with a Nippon Modus 3 120 S flex to see what set up I like best for the set .
I preferred the feel & sound of the 57s .
The dispersion's ridiculously good . The distance is solid , so to the launch .
I prefer the top line , the sole & shape more as well .
I also could feel the presence of the muscle bar in the 57 as well .
I've got nothing against the Epon , just the CB57 suits me better !
Have you hit them side by side ?

I've hit the af302 and mb001. not the best of comparison since one is a cb vs mb, but I do give the slight edge to the mb001 in feel. Distance wise I would go af302. I just bought some used af302 heads, but I've been eyeing the cb57's since they came out and wondering if I should resell or trade. I have not hit the cb57's yet...

You will not be disappointed with the CB-57s...came from MP15/MP4 and CB-202s before that...these blow the 202s out of the water...I'm satisfied enough that I don't need to ever try the Epons...

If I were hitting a cb57 and an af302
Same shafts / loft etc. Would there any difference in launch/spin ?

Is either of them particularly longer?

I'm so pumped to grab some Japanese irons and drop my Apex Pros but I just don't know which ones!

In Melbourne so they just aren't around to even look at !!

Never tried those shafts .
Both irons are top of those irons are top of the mountain in terms of quality .
You've obviously got an Epon dealer in Melbourne .
If you go onto the Miura website it says there's a Miura dealer in Victoria .Golf dynamics .
If that doesn't work out I know a guy up here in Sydney that can sort you out .

The miuras should feel denser, epons very soft. I've never hit the specific Miura model but 302 is ultra forgiving in my opinion and I didn't see anything close ball speed wise. Based on pics I would guess the epons will fly further and higher, the cavity looks much bigger on the 302.

i haven't hit the cb57, but have owned many different miura models (tourny blades, mb001, 202, 501) and have also owned many sets of epons and from my experience the epons are definitely at least a half if not a full club longer with the same shafts, also more forgiving. the miuras have a solid dense feel to them and the epons have a very solf feel. both are solid choices, just depends what you prefer.

I'm finding the 57s to be a really great product .
As said earlier I've hit the 302 .
I liked them but I absolutely love the 57 .
Some call it a more dense feel . I find it to be very clean with a lot more feedback in it .
The muscle bar in the cavity packs a great punch and when pured gives one of the best feeling results I've experienced from an iron !

Not sure if I'd agree these particular Miuras look more boutique-ish when they look a lot like a modern version of the Taylormade 300.

But I'm biased since I've never seen anything prettier than copper Epons.

I think the ultimate decision comes down to loft and how much offset a player prefers as Miuras tend to be more traditional with weaker lofts and less offset

I've hit the Taylormade and I'm hitting the 57s .
When you actually compare them in hand they are not alike at all !
Then when you've actually hit them the similarities depart altogether .
Copper looks good but but I still would pick the 57s over the Epons .
Have a hit of the 57 so you can try it for yourself .

I've hit several but I'm just not as big of a Miura fan as most around here. The only ones I'd bag are the SB-01s.

Well being a ho, I'd never pass up the chance to hit them. And don't get me wrong, I think Miuras are better than 95% of anything out there! ;)

Since, as a lefty, I can't comment on the 57's, I can comment on the difference between Epon and Miura since I own both. They play completely different and are both wonderful. Epon is soft at impact, forgiving and easy to play. Alittle more offset that I prefer, but otherwise close to perfect. Miura (left handed cavity back/blade set) have a very solid feel at impact, I like the word "dense" to describe the feel of impact. Very little offset and the cavity back plays closer to a blade than another brand's cavity back. If my ballstriking is really good, there is nothing better than hitting a Miura on the sweetspot. If my swing is alittle erratic or tentative, the Epons make for a much more enjoyable round of golf.

If you're a good ball striker go the Miuras .
If you need assistance then Epon's for you !
I've read claims on this thread of the Epons having better feel , better distance , and one guy even claimed they were prettier !
I hit a 302 against my Passing Point Straight Necks and the distance was the same ( within a yard or 2 ) with a 6 iron .
Biggest difference was feel .
Some will prefer one over another but most who prefer the Miuras are guys who strike the ball consistently and aren't in need of Epons forgiveness !
As for the feel , the 57s have a cleaner more precise feel that also provides great feedback .
When you absolutely nut it , you'll know .
When you don't you won't be still provided with a good soft feel that leaves you wondering why you're in a green side bunker instead of putting !
Hit em side by side .
That'll tell you the style of iron you want .
The most important testing you'll do is off the turf into a green .
