I put the bare minimum effort into my food purchasing, and preparation.

Speaking of food preparation, anyone here using Blue Apron? Saw an offer for first 3 meals free and I think we are going to give it a shot next week.

I've thought about it. Just to save time on shopping and to get my wife into cooking stuff other than Polish food. I have a few friend who use Blue Apron and whatever the other popular one is and they really enjoy it. They do it once or twice a week.

Are you saying you've tired of a diet of encased meats, pierogi, pickles, sauerkraut and sour cream?

Went for a short run today. Coming around the last corner home, stepped off a curb awkwardly and tweaked the S out of my back. Went down, fell awkwardly on a bent back wrist. Good ending to the day.

I see your problem there - you went running. Never a good idea.

Yeah if I wore a size 0 too I would probably worry less about running...

I think the ladies are even slower than the men. Last night we had 60 people playing 15 four ball matches. No one was over two hours. It's just not that hard.

I owe Eagle a big thanks for the scotch gift on Sunday. He said it was the gateway scotch to bourbon and he wasn't wrong, its fantastic. Its the Achutushen American Oak, very nice stuff.

I can also see it being the gateway scotch to some more bad purchases tonight.

I will break the ice.

Didn't go in with a plan. Hit 5 wood well all day and didn't hit driver once. Kept chunking 100 yard par 3's, but believe I got up and down 3/4 times from them.

2 bogeys on the front, 2 birdies and a bogey on the back for a 1 over 73.

Played with halcyan, sneak, and MTN. Everyone played really well on the front with my 38 being the highest, then each had their misses on the back. Really an easy going group to play with and the sneak fit in very well.

Thanks to Goose for setting it up, great seeing a large part of the crew and some new faces!

JJ was 70/63, no one under 70. Bunch of low and mid 70 scores in the bunch and the group totals were all within several shots.

Thanks to Goose for setting the RRC up

Played with JJ, Ray and Seigel, good group and had lots of fun. JJ and I did our match and he won 1up. JJ played well with a 70 and I had a 72. Lots of good shots out there. 4 birdies and 4 bogeys for me. Our team won the team net with a score of -25 net. Ray was killing the ball of the tee, hit it 325 on hole #1 to over the green. I was impressed. JJ was solid all day. Seigel had a couple of bad holes but otherwise played well. He can spank the ball as well. I bogeyed the last two holes(#18 & #1) to shoot even par. Missed two 4' putts on both holes. JJ also bogeyed #1 or he would have had a 69. It was a good match that was back and forth all day. The team match was really good with everyone ham & egging it on all the holes

Thanks to Goose for putting this together.

It was good to see Greg and Puppet again -- haven't played much/at all with them. Met TheChief and TheRealSneek so it's always a good day to see new guys out there. New to me.

I played with Goose, THDC, and Eagle.

We played well as a group, but none of us played individually well. DC and I had a match against Eagle & Goose and we crushed them on the front. Like +5 after 9, but lost the back by a couple holes.

I thought it was a lot of fun, and it went pretty much like I thought. . .

Hole 1, I smashed a drive about green high and missed an 8 footer for birdie, but got up & down on 2 for birdie. Had 100 in on 3 and sunk a 22 footer for birdie. 3-putt bogey on 4. Had to actually lay off driver on 5 because that cross bunker was about 275 down wind (Goose covered it on a bomb). I nuttted a 4W about a yard short of the bunker, missed the green with an 8I, but got UD for birdie. So, I birdied 3 out of my first 4 holes, but I shanked a half-wedge on the next hole and made double.

Holes 7 & 8 were both playing about 210 to the middle of the green. I hit 3 iron OVER both greens. I think I hit about 5 feet from the pin on both of them. Two of my best shots all day, but I don't have stopping power from 200. Went par-birdie. Then, lost a ball on 9 on my second so I had 4 birdies on the front and shot +1.

I lost 4 balls on holes 10-11-12, but par on 12 anyway. . .aimed too far right with 4w and SMOKED it into the hazard about 130 out.

4W on 14 pin high in the sand. I got into a shouting match with Kent here. He was on the 13th tee and I was speaking at a reasonable volume which he took offense at. Highlight of the conversation, "Kent, was that you who hit into us on 10?" "You know I can't hit one that far. I saw YOUR drive though." "OH yeah, which one?" "Both of them!"

Tried to hit a big cut driver on 15 and hit the trees. Hit a provisional, and put that one in rough just left of the fringe of the green. It was "second guy" shot, but it was a cool shot. I don't really have that cut shot grooved. Found the first one anyway and made double.

Finished missing a 6 footer for bird on 17, and sunk a 15 footer for bird on 18. I had a couple three putts (two were legit), but I made quite a few feet of putts actually. Maybe 4 putts over 10 feet and 4 more putts that I don't know how they stayed out.

Hole 17 is playing about 85 yards and I'm hitting my 54º.

I get over the shot and go, "I don't think I've ever hit this club off the tee before."

Thanks to all the guys for coming out. 100% attendance on a weekday at 3pm, you don't get that very often. Upvotes for everyone. JJ has two nice towels now to display his victory for all too see (no tampons were harmed in the making of these prizes).

Protip: airmailing the 10th and 18th greens are bad places to be. Lob wedges off the tee box, also bad idea.

I opted to give myself the "Blue Tee Experience" on holes 1, 2, and 3 with topped drives. That was nice. The rest was bad course management mixed with small stretches of good shots. Game's at rock bottom and probably a good idea to take the weekend off and relax.

Eagle, City and Dave all played well and had some great shots. Our group cooled down after a really solid front 9 and lipped out a whole bunch of putts on the back. I had a putt on 13, uphill putt that turned the OPPOSITE way at the edge of the hole like it hit a crown.

A good bunch of the holes out there didn't feel all that different, the water/doglegs forced a little bit of laying back. The greens are still greens with big bunkers and turtlebacks so nothing was a gimme out there.

I didn't know I was on camera!

Great day yesterday. Played with Puppetmaster, Thechief, and Tex. Great guys! I had a blast. It is always great to play with Tex and I was happy to finally hook up with Puppet and Chief. We all had our good and bad during the round. I 4 putted #9 and then had 3 birdies in a 4 hole stretch. Go figure. We all seemed to have pretty solid games. Like I said, great group of guys. I hope to hook up with Puppet and Chief on this side of the river soon, and I am sure I will be hooking up with Tex and Andrews. I have played Blue Mash at least 50 times, mostly from the blues. it had a whole new look from the reds. I had one bad club decision that led to a double bogey. Hit 5 wood off the tee on #15 and it went dead straight into the trees. Every other problem was operator error.

HUGE thanks to Goose for organizing. It was a blast.

Great time out there with Chief, Greg, and Tex. Nice to meet a bunch of WRXers I'd never met in person, including MTN whose picture I've used extensively in MS Paint, and hope we didn't scare Sneek away being it was first time out with the group. The whole heat thing ended up being a non-issue as it turned out pretty decently. Course conditions were good, could have been excellent if the greens weren't like sidewalks. Either way, Blue Mash, like Worthington, is one of those places that I wished I lived closer to. And that par 5 12th hole? Again, blow it up. Rinsed 3 new TM TP Reds consecutively from tee to green for ball-in-pocket ESC 7. My average score there is about 8.5, worst being a 13.

I think our group had a pretty erratic day. Greg's long game was pure and he made 3-4 birdies, but had some struggles on the greens. Chief's highlight was after a drop on 12, clanking the pin for an almost eagle, but unfortunately, the ball ricocheted off the green. Seemed to have a decent putting day. Tex hit the ball decently well in spurts, and made a nice up and down birdie on the par 5 5th, but he found the woods on the right on 14 and hit 2 consecutive shots that hit trees and went straight back at him. For me, 2 things stuck out. First, hitting a pull hook so bad on 9 that I went LEFT of the hazard into the open space between the range and hazard, under the power lines. As it turned out, that was also the best line into the green and I hit a solid hybrid just off the back, only to miss a 3-foot birdie putt. Second, after a bunch of yipped short putts on the front, I think I didn't miss anything inside 6 feet after the 9th. Of course, I was running all my approach putts 4-5 feet past, so those were all come backs. Overall, a mix of good and bad, but happy that I was able to grind it out and not implode.

BIG thanks to Goose who put it all together.

Btw, no one said anything about this bunker on 18?

Where were the GUR signs? Or maybe it was just "City-raked".

LOL. Was no where near it.

Eagle gave the team advice. . .basically, play up the 10th fairway. Go no where near the hazard. Hit it over the tree if you have to. Good advice for me. The team kind of jacked that hole up though.
