Why wouldn't they include price of these courses anywhere in the write up? I feel like that is an important data point. Yes it is public but it will cost you $500+ to play...

 

Yeah, that one in Vegas, Shadow Creek. Isn't it like a couple thousand to play. The only people that play there are comped whales.

a couple grand can get you on some of the nicest private courses in the country (charity auctions/donations to a member's "cause"/etc...)

Everyone knows Rory is my boy, so watch your mouths, but looks like he just signed a full bag deal with TM. So since last August, he went from 14 Nike clubs and ball, to a mixed bag of mostly Cally, to a full 14 club and ball deal with TM. My question, does this hurt a player of his caliber?

The ball is the biggest change. Most drivers max out COR anyway, so that boils down to a visual thing as well as some feel. But how the ball reacts definitely changes how shots react and are played.

Dormie Club is the highest rated course in pinehurst besides #2. That completely changes my opinion about Dormie Club. Must play on any trip to Pinehurst.

3 minutes ago on Twitter, Rory confirmed TM deal. I think it hurts him slightly, if for the continued equipment runaround. However, should the ball and the equipment match like they did at Nike, he should be just fine.

Its $500 plus caddie tip M-Th and anyone can play provided you are staying at an MGM property. F-Su its by invitation only.

 

I don't think the price matters on this list. If they were going to make a "Best Value" list it might.

 

From a pure golf standpoint it still blows my mind that Pebble is #1 given all the other great tracks in the top 15 - including the Bandon ones that I haven't even played.

I do not like Dormie, but can see why its highly rated. However, better than Pine Needles? No way. Ive played both courses with 9 different thredizens now and cant recall a single one of them liking Dormie better.

I'm pretty sure my main take on Dormie was that I'd like to play it again not on the end of a grueling golf trip where I tried to walk it. Might be better in a cart. Would like to see staff not be d-holes.

 

But, it's not a great walking course, so it's already on an uphill climb to get me to like it as much as Pine Needles.
