Finally got out again. Played 36 at PB Dye today. $56 for all day golf plus lunch. First round since Masters weekend, over 4 weeks. We had an 1/2 hour frost delay this morning (WTF!!) and then was playing in short sleeves in the afternoon. 81 in the morning with a triple on 18 after hitting a duck hook into the high stuff and flailing away until I finally got it in the hole. 2 birdies on the back (#14 and #17). Good sammich for lunch with a nice Brewer's Alley IPA. Afternoon round was a thrill ride. Two triples and a birdie. Had to par the last two holes for an 83. The course is in the best condition I have ever seen it. I've never been a fan of the condition of the greens, but they were smooth and quick today. It felt good just to get out again.

Everyone knows Rory is my boy, so watch your mouths, but looks like he just signed a full bag deal with TM. So since last August, he went from 14 Nike clubs and ball, to a mixed bag of mostly Cally, to a full 14 club and ball deal with TM. My question, does this hurt a player of his caliber?

 

These guy good pick up any OEM driver and smash... one might cut a little or draw a little more but nothing to freak out about.

 

VT.. we got in before the new COR test became active, so ours on paper should be the hottest face.... rumor mill but I HEARD IT on ELLIOT IN THE MORNING!

 

I do think it matters irons down to putter. This is where all of their spidey sense comes into play with SW, soles, face, etc. However, Rory has had his hand in the making the Callys for him and I betcha TM will do the same.

 

He is the player that I hope we don't say what if but TM has lead the market in woods for many years (not this one but..), so he shouldn't miss a beat.

 

They make very good balls.. .take the KSIG for example.. ;)

That sole looks identical to the Lunar Control 2. They either had some leftover stock that they needed to use, or just brought the old molds out of the factory closest to make a new shoe. I really liked that model and they were quite comfy.

Tempted to go up there tomorrow (same rate). Haven't played for nearly two weeks and need to get some time before we play DVCC next week. Have some flexibility with time but trying to avoid to/from traffic.

 

Also tempted to hit Spring Creek since it's (relatively) cheap tomorrow.

Just got back in town this evening. Was in Pa. sister not doing well at all. She lives a mile from Laurel Valley CC. Got to play it early Monday. This is what money can do to a course. Place is in great shape, may be the 3rd best I have ever played on.

 

I won on Sunday morning match play so the championship match is next Saturday. Semi's went 19 holes. He had a good birdie putt on 18 but missed. We went to 1 again an I sunk a 20 footer for birdie to win. Damn that felt good cause the guy I was playing was really good stick. Every match for all the guys have been close. lots of 1up's to win.

 

PS feels good to be healthy again and striking the ball well.
