TM Rossa '07 Classics with AGSI+

Anyone have some playing time?

They seem to be arriving in a few stores now...can anyone offer some feedback?

I've asked a local shop to hold the first 35" Imola that arrives so that I can demo it.

No feedback just yet, but I plan on heading to the shop in about an hour and see if they have them in!

Well the store didn't have them. Don't know what the deal is. But I will be honest, I don't plan on getting one. I love my putter, and while I love the black on the agsi+, I hate the yellow that is now a dominant color.

We've had them in our shop for a while now. First impression is how stunning these putters look in a gloss/matte black finish. After hitting a few putts I felt that the AGSI+ series felt WORSE that the previous AGSI putters. The feel was a harsh click as opposed to the softer feeling AGSI, which is similar to the Studio Stainless scotty. Overall, I think the cosmetics are a huge improvement, along with the new models, but the feel and performance is lacking.

Just got them in the shop 3 days ago, and already, the reviews have been fantastic.

I just love the Imola 8, rolls perfect, looks even better.... the best ive seen in a while!

I like TM a lot but the putters... ugh. They looked like they are painted black with a rattle can. The yellow face insert is ugly - I really liked the white oval but not the yellow. And all the headweights on the classics are too light. I really wanted to like their new stuff too.

Mixed reviews...guess we would worry if there were unanimity among the members who have seen them.

Website lists the stock headweight as 340 grams.

I just got the AGSI+ Imola 8 recently.

I think the AGSI+ is better than the old AGSI.

Feels pretty soft, no click sound but rather a cluck sound. Well balanced putter, nice head weight to it.

The finish is great, matte on the top and shinny on the face and sole.

Rolls the ball very well.

The only bad thing, MADE IN CHINA.

Picked mine up at the club Sunday morning. I got the Daytona. It holds the line and rolls great. It will take a little getting used to on the short putts.

I messed around with them for 30 minutes on the practice green over the weekend. They were just OK. Not a bad putter, but nothing to jump out and get me to think for a second of switching.

I am not sold on the technology of more RPMs/better forward roll as the determining factor of what putter I use. Personally, putting is the one part of golf that is most dependent on feel, confidence, and consistency. It's been a long time since I have seen a putter that has so much skid as to render the putter a liability. And it's very rare that I get to putt on tour quality greens like you see on TV where a few RPMs may (repeat, MAY) be the difference between a top 10 or not on tour. So other factors are going to have just as much influence on what putter I use than something like AGSI+.

Perhaps the biggest factors are appearance and feel/sound. If I don't like the looks of the putter at address, then I won't feel confident, there will be too many distractions. For example, Cameron Futura was an instant failure for me. While the MOI aspect of it would be beneficial, the appearance and the way it had to be set just right to square the face was a killer. As far as the new Rossas....the imola and daytona look okay at address, no real distractions.

As far as feel is concerned, I felt like the new Rossas needed a little more punch to them to get the ball where you wanted it on longer putts. The insert has decent feel, the sound a little clicky, but not too big a deal. Again, nothing to knock on these putters, but nothing that screams 'must have'. The imola felt a little lite, I was thinking a strip or two of lead tape was needed. The daytona felt a little better although the framing at address could use a little bulk/heft to it. For example, the bumpers and appearance at address of the Odyssey Blacks and Cameron Newports look more solid. Maybe it's the black paint scheme, it seems to hide the Rossa's curves.

If I were to use a Rossa, I would go back to the CGB models, those feel much better.
