Ping B60 stainless steel love this putter.

Just picked up a used ping B60 old school stainless steel putter. 35" shaft. wow. i like it as well as anything i've tried including some scotty's. i wonder how old it is. seems to have a nice weight and modern zing on the ball strike. i've had the newer billy horschel copper B60 and i think i prefer the old one. somebody putt a thick winngrip on it which is nice but they managed to put it slightly off center.

Good putters they have somewhat of a cult following. They always sat a little funny for my eye. The one you described sounds like an 80s issue to me being in stainless. I may be wrong though one of the Ping collectors on here will maybe chime in and give you a definite. Nothing wrong with it at all if you can putt with it. It does not have to be the latest greatest Milled/ polymer insert or custom to putt well

I have a BeCU B60 that was my first putter. Still great flatsticks.

the old BeCu Ping putter. they were awesome. I recall having the Pal 2 and the Zing 2 at different times.

Good putter. In my peak era of 93-03 had one in the bag.

Have a bronze one now with the pixel insert. Good putters.

I have a BeCu version and the Bettinardi copy (Studio Stock 10) that find their way in the bag from time to time.

Old ping putters are solid. I just put an old Pal 2 back in the bag. With a couple strips of lead tape on the bottom, it's been money so far.

The B60 is at least from the late 1980s and they came in stainless, both in silver and a black satin that wore to silver over time, and the beloved BeCu, which darkened as it aged. I still have my stainless B60 from 1988 or so with the black satin finish and the BeCu is at my parents' house. Interestingly enough, I stumbled upon this thread because my putting was so bad last weekend I dug out the old B60 and Zing2 to try something a little different (loving the B60 so far on the putting mat) and was searching for info on the newer B60 iterations.

Just picked up a stainless B60 this week from ebay and am loving it. It has great balance and I really like the pop off the face, very different from anything else I've tried recently. I need to get a few rounds in with it, but I see it replacing my Scottsdale TR Tatum with ease. It came with a round grip that I was going to change out immediately, but I'm glad I tried it first. Not having the flat front that's always ever so slightly off line has made getting setup a breeze!

i have a B60 G2 model, by far one of the best feeling putters i have ever owned, thats why its still in the backup rotation along with a Redwood Piper.

Question for some of you that may know...I was thinking of picking up a B60 5BZ BeNi (double bend shaft) I have an older BeCu Zing and was curious how their weights would compare in terms of which may feel the heaviest? Any input would be appreciated.

I personally cannot tell much of a headweight difference between a BeCu and a BeNi of the same head, though I personally have not pulled the heads and weighed them. They both are noticeably heavier that a stainless counterpart.

You could contact Ping and ask. They're usually pretty open about this kind of info.

Ping has told me that BeNi and BeCu's are typically 10-20g more than their MagBrz counterparts. I would guess there would only be a minimal difference between BeCu and BeNi's, if anything.

I was just going through my putters when I realized that I have 3 of these old school b60 models; a plain stainless steel, a stainless with a black satin finish, and a BeCu model. I think I might take the BeCu one out next time I play. One of the problem of collecting classic Ping putters, too many choices.

Sorry to dig up this thread…but….how does a G2 B60 compare in headweight  to something like an Anser Redwood (~340g)?

 

Was hoping someone here would have had time with both.

The G2s are heavier than the original Pings, but not as heavy as the Redwoods. They're in the 325 range.
