Have you noticed the "Taylor ade?" thread was closed? That's likely because one of the posts in that thread got a bit too close to the truth about the missing "M'. (You can still access the thread to try and figure out just which post that was).

Here's a little hint.....

Don't be surprised if TM calls the new "M" their first UN-Metal Driver when formerly announced later today...

Permission coming back? :cheesy:

JK, I think there's still metal in it and it wouldn't be the first to multi-compound. Not even in their history since they once had a wood driver with a metal insert on the face. Now that is "multi-compound".

What you assume to be metal, (the white part) may NOT actually be made of that material....

No, but I would with the face, because there aren't many materials as durable, flexible, and strong as most alloys.

I think the M stands for Multi-Material. Carbon Fiber, Some type of super soft metal on the face, the white is an ultra lightweight titanium, and the sliding weights are tungsten.

Just taking stock of all the rumors since we are a tad over 5 hours away:
T-track for weights
2 tracks for weghts
M-Track for weights
Chip in the head
New tip
Carbon Fiber in the head
No metal in the head

That's a lot going on in one club.

Also have heard from quite a few people that they likely won't be in play until the Presidents Cup.

Seems like only yesterday TM was proclaiming in a TV commercial that everything they had learned about building (metal) drivers over the years had gone into their new R15 Driver..

Now it appears possible that TM could announce a driver made of a completely different material...(i.e, something other than metal)...

:scare2:

Are they starting over now with carbon fiber and polymer??? Does the "M" indicate the MISSING METAL???

If that should turn out to be the case, I fear some of us would miss it a whole lot...

It is "a" marketing strategy. But not the only one. Cmon fellas
Where else is there a better example of Hype than on Tour? It was mentioned on the broadcast several times. Sounds like a "good" marketing strategy to me. Name another that was better? If you mentioned memorable marketing plans in the past, 8 out of 10 would be TM. Most people think TM is more marketing than performance. I am not one of them.
It just better be a bomber and sell the shelves clean or TM may be in a world of trouble according to my buddy at TM in Vegas.

Better hype on tour--Pro v1 commercials, "The number one ball in golf." Its simple. And its performance based.
In no way is this performance based. It is based on Titleist paying to make sure it wins the ball count on tour. It is based on people having bought TItleist for years if not decades and that is all they will play. It is based on product placement in the stores so it is the first ball they will see in the store. They market so they make sure they are the number one selling ball. Taylormade, Nike, Callaway, Srixon and Bridgestone all make balls that are as good as TItleist and perform as well as Titleist. But it is hard to get people to switch considering the decades of the marketing by Titleist saying they are the number one ball in golf.
Can't you say that abou TM drivers? That they pay the most?

Yes you can. They are number one on tour in drivers because they pay to make sure that they can make that claim. That has been said numerous time by myself and others on many threads. The trolls and haters try to throw that in TM fan faces but we remind them the same can be said about Titleist when it comes to the golf ball used on tour.
