I think Lydia has ice water in her veins. Well, maybe iced cherry Kook-Aid. She quietly goes about her business, while others fall by the wayside. I was watching the 2014 CME championship last week, and I forgot how she beat Ciganda after 4 playoff holes, hitting driver/hybrid on 18 like a machine. Ho hum.

In many ways, this is how Inbee has gotten i t done over the past few years. If I'm not mistaken, the majority of Inbee's wins were come from behind victories when then 3rd round leader stumbled down the stretch.

That playoff is the perfect argument for Lydia's swing change, presumably to get more distance. She knew it is what it takes to get to the next level.

I remember Ciganda was flag hunting with short irons while Lydia plodded away with her hybrid to the center of green and 2 putt. She dodged a couple of bullets when Ciganda kept missing short putts for the win, until finally Ciganda hit it into the hazard.

Shaping up to be another interesting round today. I thought the pin placement made the course a little harder yesterday but there were a few good risk and reward holes. Lydia seemed more down to business in her grouping with Inbee. It's amazing how the press start talking about Sung Hyun Park and how good these Koreans are then she follows up with a 74. I'm not surprised the regular LPGA'ers struggled a little on the first day.... jetlag, interviews, pro am and gala dinner and the local KLPGA'ers can of course fly under the radar to start unless they hit a 62....then the pressure goes on....interviews etc. You would have to think most of the KLPGA players would know this course very well so I expect some low scores to come still it's hard to see Lydia going backwards so they will have to make plenty to beat her from here...

I've been watching the live streaming coverage using the JTBC Golf link and although the commentary is in Korean it's been excellent. They are only covering the leading players in general but that is mostly the case for TGC anyway. I had both the streams running at once and TGC is slightly behind JTBC and JTBC started 1/2 an hour earlier and went right through to the close of play. Not sure if the GC did that after the late start yesterday due to fog. I also don't know if the JTBC coverage is geo blocked to the USA....but it's fine here in N.Z.

Lexi is long and wrong, three putting twice, trying to overpower the course with her length but poor course management and putting is not her strength on the large undulating greens. In Gee making a move to but hard to overcome her poor first round. Miriam Lee doing well but Lydia is steady tee to green.

Lexi had so many chances to take the lead and run with it, but missed make able putts. On the par 5 she went for it and it ended up costing her, while others laid up and gave themselves a birdie chance. I'd like to see her grab this win.
