Range Finder Pricing

I'm looking to pick up my first range finder before next spring. Right now I'm leaning towards a Bushnell V3, Z6. or Tour X. Although I haven't ruled out Leopold.

 

What have you been abe to buy these models for at a retial sale price. I wouldn't consider ebay sellers for a purchase of this type.

 

I received an e-mail coupon recently from sports authority that was offering 25% off and free shipping . If they allowed the Bushnell's to be sale priced the V3 would have been ($300-25%+ tax) or $243 and the z6 ($400-25%+ tax of 8%) or $324. Just wondering how these deals compare to what others have been able to find.

I just bought a Tour Z6 last week with the money I got from selling my Ping G25 irons so price wasn't as much a consideration for me.

I can tell you that I went with this model after much thought, ultimately selecting the Tour Z6 because of the red display (awesome by the way), small size, rubber textured grip fits great and secure in your hands, 6X magnification, very quick responsiveness on this laser, water proof, and you can change the brightness of the red in lower light conditions.

I played 54 holes over the weekend and I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. Also, you get a great case to protect your laser. I think it's the best laser on the market!

Used a v3 a couple times, it's nice, small and fast. Only possible drawback is that it's 5x magnification instead of 6x. That wouldn't discourage me from having one.

I own a Callaway 300 which is 6x,every bit a nice and fast as the v3,just doesn't have jolt. Got it for well under $200 between a killer deal and rebate (but that rebate is no longer available).

Frankly I don't know what more the high end gives you that the v3 or Callaway doesn't do. Maybe better and brighter optics? But that wouldn't matter to me unless I'm using it for hunting in low light.

I picked up the V3 Patriot pack a few months back when it was on sale for ~$225 or so. I think it was Golf Galaxy.

I've ONLY bought range finders off ebay. Never once had a problem that I would consider ebay or used equipment related.

Had the original Bushnell (the little one) for a number of years. Upgraded to the V2 to get the Pinseeker model. Worked fine until it went tumbling out of my cart at full speed, now it won't lock on beyond 100 yards or so.

Log on to a couple of the big on-line stores. You'll get on their email list and inform you of any sales. I got my Z6 last year from TGW when they had a sale of $50 off on purchases of $300 or more and included free shipping. Got a great deal on a great laser.

I bought my V3 a few weeks ago when amazon had a great sale in their warehouse deals section. Got a like new one for $180 after a 30% off coupon. Since it was sold by amazon it came with full warranty, etc.

There are dealers on ebay that are fine to buy from. Look for legit stores with big feedback.

I actually like the v3 over the higher magnification levels. It shows less shake from my hands. It's so quick to work that I can't imagine having a bigger pic in the recticle would make a difference. It's like lightning!!

I bought my Leupold GX-3i from eBay brand new in box a couple years ago for $120 off retail. I have had no issues with it. You can find good deals on ebay and as long as you buy from an ebay power seller, you're safe.

Cristphoto: I'll take your advice to log onto a couple retailers or more. Besides TGW would you recommend Dicks, Carls, Dan's, morton, or someone else ?

I'll reconsider and start watching ebay to get a feel for their prices.

Well... I ended up going with the Tour X.

Due to the amount of hills on my home course, I wanted to go with a laser that had slope.

I've used it for two 18 hole rounds so far, and the largest diffrence in acuall versus slope distance has been 13 yards.

Being my first laser, I can't compare it to any other model, but so far so good. A GPS mounted to my clicgear handle and is still my primary distance refrence.

I added some foam rubber inside the score card compartment of the clicgear. It is REALLY easy to flip the door open to grab the rangefinder. The foam will cushin the ride.

I' finding the laser to be most beneficial for elevated greens where you can't see how far back the flag is. It is also great for knowing pitch shot distances in the 30-90 yard range.

It was temporarily on sale for $449.99 and I was able to use a 20% off promo code to net out at $360 delivered.
