Are these going to be announced at the PGA show? If not, does anyone have any updates on when these will get released?

I'm hearing FJ is going through some BIG changes right now... I know our reps are getting moved around, etc. Trying to streamline for a sale?

How come with every change comes a rumor about a sale of a company? Acushnet was sold to Fila a few years back. What would be the impetus to sell off the number one shoe and glove in golf?

I guess it could happen if they are cash strapped, however I don't see it, but I'm no Jim Cramer.

Adidas must be loving life. Footjoy can't design a nice looking shoe lately for the life of them.

Really don't like the huge FJ logo on the shoe....luv the fit of a FJ shoe, recent styles have been disappointing...

  • 4 weeks later...

I tested these last week. I have to say, they are like walking on clouds. Some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. However, I elected to not go with them because I felt they were too "squishy" for me, and I like more "stability". I equate these to Winn soft grips. Comfortable as hell. For me, I like cord grips that are hard with no give.

On looks I totally agree with you, but people are going to buy Footjoy shoes regardless of what they look like or how many years they are behind the industry in terms of technology.

If people say these are the most cushioned shoe they have ever put on their feet, they obviously haven't tried Boost or Lunar shoes. These will sell. I foresee next year they will focus back in the DryJoy Tours. It's all cyclical.

New shoes are ugly as h***, and if the FJ gets any larger and u where them, FJ should send u an appearance fee for the free billboard advertising.

Why focus back on the DryJoys? The Hyperflex and DNA have killed it for FJ. This shoe will too. The shoe industry is trending towards more modern atheltic looking shoes. If you dont like it then they'll always have the DryJoys and Icons for you too. Thats why they carry so many different styles.

And I tried on this shoe at the PGA show. Hands down most comfortable shoe. Boost and Lunar shoes don't compare to light-weight, cushioned feel of this shoe.

It's my guess. Or opinion. Titleist/FJ run most of their lines and introduction in two year cycles. Every time they come out with an M-Project or Freestyle we hear half of the members here opine for the Classics or more traditional styles.

Yes this will sell, I said that, but to cover their bases and remain in the #1 spot, I feel they will do something to excite the other half that are turned off by golf shoes that wish to look like tree frogs.

The Freestyles felt good to you, because of their fit. FJ does a great job fitting the average golfer's foot. They have scanned many, many golfers feet and created an average last for most of their shoes called the laser last.

However, the thick polyurethane insole that you will feel the most cushioning from is year's dated from the cushioning foams developed by Nike and Adidas. Which is why you see them in today's best performance sneakers across many disciplines. The old polyurethane insoles would be viewed as too heavy and not responsive enough for today's elite athletes across other disciplines. Fortunately golf does not have the same requirements in footwear and the limitations of old tech is not as exaggerated in our sport.

I am VERY hard to fit due to my size 13 and very flat feet. I tried on the Freestyle and the Superlites, both are EXCELLENT fits for people with flat feet. I was ehhhhh on the white Freestyle but the black ones were ok.

They don't look that bad! I buy for function first, anyway. I have HyperFlex, Gel Fusion II, Adidas Tour 360, and even a pair of True Links. All I care about is the score I shoot when I'm wearing them.
