New FootJoy shoes: shot at 2015 RSM

Recommended Posts

The Cleveland VAS of golf shoes right there.

I don't care what/who the target market is, they are absolutely hideous.

It's like the nerdy white socks with sandals crowd, cyclists (the scourge of the earth), and Subaru driving granolas, had a drug fueled orgy and this is the bastxxx love child..
Wow, you'd think those shoes stole your first born child! No one is going to force you to buy them. I hope you can erase the image of those shoes from your memory so you can rest easy. :-)

By the way, did you notice that quite a few people said they were going to buy some. They must be the target market.

Never a big fan of the reel laces going back to the first application in salomons.. Always seems like a great and convenient idea from a fit and tension standpoint, but they always seem to come loose during the activity. Never figured out if they get bumped by standing with the shoes touching or the reel lets loose during some activity. Never seem to have a lock that holds.. Has to be a basic design flaw...has happened with every pair I have had, running, cross training, golf, casual every version same result. Not falling for it again..
Surprised that you have had experience with Boa (the brand) laces in running, cross training or casual, since they have almost no products in those categories now (or ever). They dominate snowboard and have a big presence in cycling.
Puma had them in athletic shoes.

Puma had its own "disc" system. Not a Boa system.

This is exactly why I love my Skechers. Very classic looking, great fitting shoe. Sporty, but classic. I agree with the sizing issues on Footjoys as well. I had to completely go away from them.

These are awful. How many people actually buy the BOA stuff anyway? Is it that difficult to tie your shoes?

BOA is a huge market overseas. Take a look on the majority of shoes and they all have BOA. But it's not about not being able to tie your shoes, unless your someone with arthritis in which case it is very helpful, it's about the fact that the wire wraps around your heel and locks your foot in place. So if your someone like me who has a wider forefoot and a narrow heel, it keeps me from sliding around. Something that's can't be done with laces. It's not for everyone but it can be helpful for a variety of issues.

The FJ Icons shoes are definitely in this years line-up. I could wear any pair. FJ haved treated me with an excellent fit and long lasting comfort.

Can't believe how little attention the Icon Black's have gotten. When they first came out, there wasn't much fanfare at all and it seems to have stuck that way and FJ doesn't seem to have many of their guys in them. I can't believe it because I have a pair. I also have two pair of regular Icon's and a pair of FJ Sports that I still break out on occasion and the Icon Black's are more comfortable than the lot of them. I would say it is the best golf shoe that I have ever worn. I know they are expensive, they retail for Β£300 here in the UK (although I have not seen them for sale at the retail price anywhere) but the quality of them is the nearest FJ have gotten to Classics but they are much more comfortable.

I just could not resist buying a black pair. I love the look and comfort. Plus, my stable of golf shoes are pretty worn so two new, two gone. I am looking forward to a good 2016 golf season.

It's an awesome shoe! But I feel people are going away from the classic look and going into lightweight, comfort sporty shoes

I am a huge FJ guy, wear nothing else, but come on....

Why is the red necessary all over, just make a damn blk/wht/gry and a wht/gry, then make some funky colors.

Some people like a white pair and a black pair, and it's nice not to have those other goofy accent colors in there.

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!

I will stick with the Hyperflex.

I'm pretty much a life long FJ fan going back to leather bottom classics. However, now that I have worn nubs for a while, I don't want to fool with spikes...and even though vanity is not a thing for me, some of these newer shoes look HUGE in size 13...and some made on poor lasts like Nike measures I would need 14.

Look pretty comfy and a fairly low profile. Not a fan of the looks but feel like it could grow on me depending how they feel on the feet. Agree that footboy should stick the classic looks we've all grown to know and love from them
