Who are the best young guns on the PGA Tour?

It appears that golf has never been more exciting as we have seen an emergence of some very talented players of late...

So who are your picks for some of best young guns on tour?

Mine would be Adam Scott, Anthony Kim, Bubba Watson, Troy Matteson, Luke Donald, Justin Rose and Sean O'Hair..

These are some players in their twenties that have distinguished themselves on tour...

I'd have to put Villegas in that group as well.....If young is under 30 there would be a bit more...Scott, Baddely, Immelman, etc....I could go on for quite awhile...

1. Sergio Garcia

2. Adam Scott

3. Luke Donald

4. Justin Rose

5. Aaron Baddely

6. Trevor Immelman

7. Sean O'Hair

8. Anthony Kim

In this order

How can you put Garcia ahead of Scott? He hasn't won on any tour since '05, is ranked 12th in the world and is 8th on the PGA money list. Scott has won this year (Houston), twice last year (one Asian, one PGA), is ranked 4th in the world and is 6th on the money list. Any way you look at it, Adam Scott is a better player than Sergio Garcia right now.

I agree - but I'm a Sergio HO (even though I hat his spitting in the cup, his tight pants and his choice of color  ) I really love this dude - but Adam Scott is clearly now the better player of the two - but I'm a blind Sergio fan, and therefore he's number 1 on my list....I think Sergio has more natural talent than Adam. Adam has a beautiful swing, but he seems a bit stiff over the ball, while Sergio's swing is not that perfect, bur he just seems more natural over the ball.

I will agree that Sergio's swing seems more natural than Adam's. Adam's looks more manufactured while Sergio's seems more a development of his natural talent. And when Sergio is on, his ball-striking is just ridiculous. How many times have we seen him nuke a 240-250 yard 2 iron from the fairway a mile in the air to finish 15 feet from the hole for a look at eagle? Lots.

But Sergio's putting is just absolutely atrocious under pressure. I know it's been said a million times, but it is very true. You just wait for Sergio to miss a bunch of very makeable putts on Sunday. Adam seems a little more solid in this department. That and his course management looks to be more consistent as well.

I agree...Adam Scott is on the verge of breaking through...I think he will win a major soon and be a mainstay in the top ten on tour...his swing reminds me alot of Tiger's

I had the opportunity to see him play this year at the Shell Houston Open and he was superb! His ball striking was a sight to see and he was putting very well...

I think working closely with Butch Harmon has made a difference..

He seems very confident in his abilities and as he continues to mature as a player I think we will see him winning many more events!

4. Sean O'Hair

5. Anthony Kim...The Kid is 21! He is Long and a great ball stricker!

6. Lucas Glover...He just needs to break through and will be a big winner.

7. DJ Trahan

:(

7. Bill Haas...

From the european tour, what about Henrik Stenson?

He is easily as good as Scott and Garcia!

Watch out for Oliver Fisher as well. He is 18 year old, qualified for european tour this year and was ranked number 1 amatuer in the world when he was 17............now thats gota be the closest to Tiger at that age??

I have to disagree with this take.

Adam Scott swing looks more manufactured? Huh? I know he's trying to emulate tiger's swing, but his swing looks more natural to me than Sergio's. Next to Jim Furyk, Sergio's got the weirdest swing on tour.

Manufactured in the sense that he is basing his swing of the Harmon model which looks like Tiger's swing. There is absolutely nothing at all wrong with this. It may be closer to the "ideal" swing, but IMO isn't as natural as the other two mentioned.

I consider Sergio's swing more natural because it his more his own. He didn't look at a particular model or player when his swing was taking shape.

Furyk's swing to me is very natural. This is 100% his natural swing, the one that works for him. He didn't follow a model or emulate any player out there. Just went with what he had and made it work.

I disagree with both these statements. I don't think anyone can say that Scott or Garcia's swings aren't natural. What does that mean? They both get the club to the top and let it come down. To me, that's natural. They both could hit it at the pin at will. If your saying that Garcia's swing is more natural than Scott's just because Scott's looks like Tiger's though, I think you're wrong. I think the word you're looking for is "original". Garcia's swing is definitely more original, in my opinion, I don't think anyone on tour has one like his. Scott, in my eyes, has one of the most elegant swings on tour, almost flawless. Please don't take offense to my comments, because I am not trying to criticize anyone's opinion, I'm just voicing my own. :partytime2:

OK. I don't think I'm explaining my point very well here.

By manufactured, I mean this. The player and student study an existing swing model (Tiger) and make changes to that players swing to bring it closer to the model. Now, how much Butch did this with Adam is up to debate. But the similarity is uncanny.

With natural I mean that the player and coach work with an existing swing and don't make any changes based on other players swings or existing swing models. I think all of us can agree that Jim Furyk's swing is 100% his own.

I'm not talking about rythm, tempo or anything else to that effect.

He's not on the PGA Tour officially yet but has played well in the ones he played in last year though.

19 year old phenom Jason Day!

I agree, another Aussie in the mix. I was disappointed to see him shoot a 73 when he was tied for the lead to start the day on the Nationwide. But he's a great player. Adam Scott says Jason's better than he was when he was that age.

Another vote for Jason Day - after his brilliant form over this past weekend and his win a few weeks earlier, this kid could be a future great.

And still only 19!!

Maybe he will be the best of the Aussies in a few years...
