hole in one vs. double eagle

Have add both, 4 hole in ones, 1 double eagle. Still remember the Hole in ones vividly and although there is luck involved in both, I feel like the Hole in one generally has more skill. Double eagle was a blind shot and almost went back to play another shot for lost ball before one of my opponents looked in the cup.

I've had plenty of aces (6) give me a double eagle! I've been close a few times but never canned one. One of my regular playing buddies has 3 double eagles but never a H-I-O.

I would take either since I have never got either however....I voted for Double Eagle...seems to me like it would be a lot harder and a lot more rare.

Back in the late 90's I played in a foursome that had a golfer that made two hole in ones in one round. I forget the exact number but the local news found out about the feat and some mathematician figured it was something like several trillion to one that 2 hole in ones in one round could be made.

Crazy thing was on one of the other par three's I missed a hole in one by quarter of an inch! there was no grass that my ball wasn't touching but it wouldn't fall in until i banged the flag into the bottom of the cup LOL!

Took some time and thought on this one. I have a hole-in-One, but do not have a double eagle...but I would still rather have the hole-in-one. Here's why...double eagle is harder to achieve, but typically from the distance required to obtain an double eagle, you would not be able to enjoy or share seeing the shot (good or bad) with your playing partners.There is just something about watching the ball go into the hole from the tee box and having the group there to witness it happen. I've almost seen a double eagle, hole-in-one on a short par 4...ball rolled and hit the flag stick and stopped 1 ft right of the hole. Now that would be something special.

I'm fortunate to say I accomplished both on one shot. A double eagle hole in one.

I've had 13 hole in ones(7 of them on par 3s over 150 yards)....not one double eagle though Double eagle is much rarer!

And plus it's 1 shot better!

Unless you mean hole in one on a par 4...i'd rather have that than a double eagle.

I've had 1 hole in one. It was great, but I missed a double eagle by 1 foot on a par 5 once. The eagle was great, but I would have loved to see the ball go in the hole on a Par 5 like Adam Scott last weekend. You can't beat getting 3 shots back at once.

both are equally satisfying

I would take both in the same round in a tourney. You better win lol. I have had a double eagle. I have missed a bunch and missed many more hole in ones by a few inches. I have flown two balls in the hole only to have them come flying out. One went into a water hazard the other to the front pot bunker in Ireland.

Never had a one, but I do have a two (on a par 5). Slam dunked a 5i from 204 for my albatross. Glad I have one in the books. Much more rare than a one...I figure I'll get the one someday...another albatross would be much tougher.

I'd rather have a Hole in one in tournament to win a car or money!!!

One of my golf buddies actually one a car in a local tournament from a hole in one a few years back.
