Hole in one. Never had one. Never had a double eagle either but seems like there's more luck involved with a double eagle. I know there's some luck in all of it but on a par three tee box a lot of times you could legitimately say you were trying to make the shot. If you make a double eagle, you were trying to just hit the ball on the green and it happened to go into the hole lol. I'd take it though for sure.

I have had one of both, I jump up and down on both, but the double eagle on the par 5 525yds was my best of the two, it helped me win alot on money and also the adout 12 skins

They both are a great fet, I am sure there more hole in one

Happy hunting for eagles and double eagles

If we're talking just hole in one on a par 3, then I'll take an albatross. It's better for the scorecard!

I've played for 10 years, and no aces yet. I've had two near-misses for an albatross though, one foot and a few inches :)

Surprised to see so many wanting the hole in one. Cmon folks -2 vs -3 on the scorecard. The layman who doesn't play golf will give more of a hoot for a hole in one but double eagle=WOW 10x over.

I would rather score an ace. This is probably because most people that do not play golf or play rarely always ask "have you every had a hole in one?" It seems as thought its a marker of skill. I watched a buddy of mine punch a 3W out of some trees from about 230 out on a Par 5 and rolled it in for a double eagle. I must say it was pretty amazing. Fortunately for us, we were paired with 2 randoms who also got to experience the once-in-a-lifetime shot.

Since I have never hit a hole in one, but I have hit a double eagle, I would rather hit a hole in one at this point.

And golf ball companies won't send you anything for a double eagle...which stinks! :russian_roulette:

Me too.

I have three albatross' but never an ace.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

I holed a 3 wood 25yrs ago for a sweet albatross, my twin bought me a trophy for shytes and giggles

I am dying for a hole in one

I've had 4 or 5 shots I can think of that sat on the lip either by rolling there or actually hitting the stick and dropping down on the edge .... one of these days. Seems almost every player I know has multiples including a buddy that aced a par 4, a pal with left and right handed aces and a twin with 2 aces

I think it's hilarious that to the average person who isn't a golfer, a hole in one sounds so much more impressive than a Double Eagle. Your hole in one might be from a mere 95 yards while your Double Eagle might be from 295 yards from the rough. Double Eagle all day long for this guy!

I am a 5-6 handicapper and I have had both. The hole in one came in 1996 on a 197 yard par 3. And in 1999 I had a double eagle from 250ish on a 540 yard par 5.

AND BETTER YET 2 WEEKS AGO I had a hole in one on a par 4 dogleg left 311 yard hole. Straight line to hole plays 277 lasered I hit a 3 wood. So I had both in one hole and THAT IS THE BEST!

Double eagle.

You get 3-4 shots at a hole in one every round, that's not the case with a double eagle. A double eagle on a par 4 or 5 is more difficult than a hole in one at a 120 yard par 3.

You can score both in one shot with a hole in one on a par 4, which is probably the rarest shot in golf. A hole in one on a par 5 is either a result of stupid luck of a stupid hole, it's so far-fetched that you can't even consider it.

I have 2 aces and no double eagles. If I could choose, I'd take another ace over a double eagle....making a 1 is perfection and aces just have a mystique about them.

They certainly do have a mystique to them that a double eagle lacks, but in general a double eagle takes more skill. If I never had an ace, I'd certainly prefer one over a double eagle. But if given a choice now, I'll take a double eagle.
