Already have a double eagle. I would love a hole in one but have only got to with in six inches. With a double eagle you don't even know what happened because it is so far out. My was with a three wood, if it wasn't for the guys walking off the green I would have been looking for my ball off the back. They told me what happened.

Give me a double! I have already had 2 aces. The closest I have came to a double eagle is lipping it out and ending up within 6 inches (twice since Jan.). One of these days.

Dang, you a pro? I wish I had that kind of bad luck. :partytime2: Haha! I would rather have a double eagle.

-3 vs. -2, although I'd take a hole-in-one any day.

I'd take the double-eagle , especially in a tournament. Not only do you drop 3 shots, but you pysch out your opponents. I would gladly take either any day though. Also I have had the pain of burning the edge the with a running 5 iron.

I'd take a hole in one personally, more "aura" to it, plus even non golfers know a hole in one is a great achievements. On a side note, played a round of golf with a couple of local pros today, and one of them flew a ball into the cup on a 200yard par three, only for it to shoot back out, 30 feet way, not a pitch mark in sight.

Double Eagle. I actually JUST had my first Ace Friday night with a couple of buddies. I've played thousands of rounds of golf. But, Why wouldn't it happen at dusk on a Friday night to close out a match against one of my buddies after a vodka tonic the size of my head. I didn't see it go in, but as soon as I stuck the ball, my buddy shook my hand to indicate the end of the match. It was an expensive night, and a great moment in my life. If you've never had one, I highly recommend getting one. It's so Choice! I love this stupid game.

I think every golfer who doesn't have an ace yet would prefer a hole in one rather than a double eagle, even though the latter is a lot harder. Well, at least I would. Over here, if we get a hole in one, we need to buy a jug of beer for every table in the clubhouse, a tab that can run into thousands depending on the club...plus there's a hole in one plaque for every ace made.

Double Eagle. I've never had an ace, but almost had 2 in 3 weeks, but I know a Double Eagle is much harder than an ace.

Double Eagle!!!!!

OK, I played this morning at a course called Toka Sticks in Mesa, nice track, real easy. Number 8 hole is a 520 yard par 5, dead straight, 45 yards wide, Palm Trees line the fww! Nice....So I play from the tips, setup, And I flat out MURDER the ball!!!! Nice Draw, I got it good....reallllll good. We get up to the first ball of the 4some, about 250 out, next was 230 out, my friends was 190 out. They start to ask where my ball was, take it I hit my UST V2 LD3 shaft at 48 inches and 6 degrees of loft, it is a long fun hole. We start to go past the one 150 marker, and there it is....I have 130 in, and a monstrous drive of 390!!! I get set with my PW, a nice high cut, and punch it in there....I see it going....nice flight...looks good...It sets down on the green....A guy yells, go in!! I see it drop, in the hole, for my first double eagle!! We all go crazy, yelling and pumping my fist..it was awesome. Sorry, I am stoked about it guys, shot 69 also...Thanks for listening, didn't mean to hog!

This reminds me of the famous line from a horse trainer, "No one ever asks me if I've won the Preakness."

Similarly, how many acquaintances will hear you're a golfer and ask if you've made a double eagle?

I've never made either and my closest misses were both agonizing, two inches directly behind the hole at (Coral Gables) Biltmore's dogleg left par 5 #11 in the mid '80s, and two inches directly behind the hole on a 165 yard par 3 in North Carolina in 1997.
