Who do you play with?

Just curious as to who you guys play with during practice, and for fun. I personally try to go out and play a round of 9 once a week by myself so I can get some time to practice and concentrate without outside distractions. On the weekends I normally and go out and play with my dad. Do any of you have like a playing partner that you go out with? Basically just share who you play with and why you play with them!

As a "loner" I get pot luck with whomever is at Orange County National, one of the Disney courses in Orlando or in the summers whover I get paired with at Queenstown in Maryland.

I have met a lot of great people/bad golfers and a lot of good golfers/jerks. Occasionally I get paired with great guys/good golfers.Since I prefer playing $1 per hole skins w/ carryover it's hard to find a comparable golfer with the same interest in a low budget bet.

The last guy who accepted a skins bet would only do 50 cents a hole,,no carryover and pissed and moaned about losing $3 bucks. He then tried to convince me to join his club.I checked it out and not only did I not like the course at his club but found out HE would recieve a $1000 credit on his account as a reward if I joined.Soooooo ,,,I guess I'm still looking for some playing partners in Orlando and Maryland,,with at least a dollar per hole in mind.

I'd much rather play with other members though because I get annoyed and bored really easily if I'm playing alone and playing badly. If I'm playing well I'm fine but it gets boring when I can't hit a shot, because at least when I'm playing with other people I've still got people to talk to and stuff.

I play with myself if I'm practicing or working on something in my swing.

 

But I usually play with a couple of my friends from school when we just want to go out and fool around or have a friendly match.

I try to play with family, but also play with better golfers more often. the other day, i was hitting balls at the driving range with a scratch golfer and he helped me immensely with my driver/woods/long iron swing. he got me to rotate and not slide my hips as much which in turn, resulted in a higher, longer shot. i play with the fsm for fun, but when i wanna get serious, i try and play with "better" players.

I play by myself during the weekdays because my dad is working, and since the course is practically empty at 9 on a weekday assuming no outings I can hit a few extra putts, etc. If there are people on the course I like getting paired up because it gets you used to playing with people who you haven't seen before, like in a match. But on the weekends, it's usually my brother, Dad and me.

I play with my dad quite a bit, but the majority of the time I play with guys that work in the pro shop with me at my course. I play with the assistant pro a lot and he usually tries to help me out with my game.

I prefer to play by myself early in the mornings. I can turn on my music and take off and play 18 in about 2-2.5 hours walking; hence the reason I like to play alone. It's just rude to listen to music when in a group with another person and a lot of times I like my music more than the other person. :friends: If I do play with other people, it is usually one of the assistant pros at the course I work at or my friend who is a much better golfer than I am. I like to play with people who are better than me so that I'm not intimidated when I play in tourneys with better players.

I play with my dad now, but I don't really care who I play with - playing with low handicappers teaches me better course management, whilst I tend to play better with higher handicappers, or in matchplay - might have something to do with showing off. When practising on course I tend to like to be by myself cos I can't hit more then one ball on each hole. If I'm at the driving range I don't care, but it helps if I have someone that can look at my swing if I need it.

I play alot with all of my teammates on the golf team. I also play with my golf coach quite a bit so he can help me with my swing.

I play by myself mostly, my grandfather, the only person in my family who golfs, is not playing much, or at all any more, so I go out, and try to get paired with someone, it sucks though, you never know what you're gonna get. I have talked to a couple Wrx'ers so I might play with them this year, off and on.

Friends, my father. I work in the pro shop so I know 90% of our memebers really well so I can ALWAYS get a game if I want to.

 

There are a few I play with a couple times a week though.

 

Then theres the usual saturday and sunday morning money game:). I know all those guys reallly well.

by myself, with my team mates but it's hard because none of them are at my course, or random girls. i actually figure out a lot when i play by myself from like 4 o clock on there is no one on the course so i finish each nine in about an hour. i play with my dad sometimes, he's ok at golf but flipping slow and it is frustrating.

about every day weather permiting and the GC being open I go out at 7am w/ a buddy of mine and stay out there untill 3 or whenever we can get a ride home. I enjoy playing w/ my bud cause he's better than I am so it always gives me a little challenge to see how close I can get to his scores or occasionaly but very rarely beat him:)

Freinds usually but i like to play with my dad and sometimes with my grandpa at madrid which is a par 29 course

usually with my friends, but if not i go out as a single and play with whoever has a group of 3, you meet some interesting people actaully.

I usually play with friends who are around the same handicap as me when I'm just go out and play leisurly but when i need to practice i ask one of my friends who is off scratch to come help me as we go around the course he picks issues in my game and we stop on one hole to practice it whether it be bunker, putting, iron shot or driving but only when the coure is empty. I find this better because i think it better than having lesson and he's going to turn pro soon anyway as he is moving to america.
