Yes, knew that & found it out just about the same time the youngster picked his nose while reading a putt today. But, what I'd never believe, unless I saw it with my own 2 eyes TWICE, was that he'd eat said booger directly after picking it WHILE on world wide TV. I still can't believe it! Amazing...on both counts!

Hi, my name is Kirk and I am a recovering club thrower. My last club throw was a beauty...I had had a long front nine and my 5 iron was taunting me all day, just sitting there begging to be thrown...come on Kirk, you know you want to. You know you can't get me over that ravine. BOOM. hahaha.I did that and my Dad walked over and picked up my bag and walked off the course with my bag. He had me WD from the junior tournament I was in and write a letter of apology to the tournament director. I am 42 now and have never thrown a club since. Not once. It's really not that hard to control.

Your dad took the same approach as a young Bjorn Borg's parents, after he hurled his racquet. Their discipline also cured him of his on-court temper tantrums. Rahm could have used a little parental guidance in the "you're the only one to blame for missing that putt, son, so stop glaring at the gallery" department.

Have you guys noticed how Jon Rahm is always getting pissed on the course? Noticed it a ton at Torrey this year, followed him and HVIII Thursday and Friday. Rahm made two guys stop walking about 300+ yards down the cartpath on the hole he was on! Slammed a few clubs, got mad at a rogue photographer (that one is forgivable) I like his game a lot and was rooting for him. Still surprised he won! Then just now during the Dell Matchplay, he missed a putt smacked the ball back toward him and missed, did it again until the ball got back to him damaging the green in the process. He continued to miss another on the following hole and they cut to him practicing the putt left handed after his miss! Just seems odd to me that nobody has checked him on this stuff.

 

No, no, no youre doing it wrong. Hes just a fiery spaniard like Sergio and Seve!! its just passion for the game unless he gets to 35 without a major and then is a petulant loser... am I doing it right?

I raged once on the course. Several years ago. I put one in the greenside bunker on #10 (after having a horrid front 9) and took me 3 shots to get out. Took an 8. On #11, I put another one in the greenside bunker. After the 3rd attempt of trying to get out, I yelled, cursed, and then took the golf ball and hurled it into the woods, stomped off to the golf cart and pouted like a 5 year old.

 

To this day I'm still embarrassed by it, despite being able to laugh about it with my friend who was with me at the time.

 

I can only imagine how hard it must be to keep your cool competing for the money they are. Makes what DJ does, the ability to forget things (insert "he's a dumb jock" joke here) all that more impressive.

 

I cringed on Sunday when I saw the replay of Rahm wanting to snap his driver over his knee. Happy to say I've never done that (mainly because I know I can't afford to replace it).

I have no problem with fiery tempers, swearing etc...frankly, it makes the game more colorful and entertaining to watch...which is, bottom line, what all professional sports are about...entertainment! The most memorable images from API were the two gator shots and the Grillo club toss...in fact, I can't even tell you who won the tournament :)

 

Damaging a course and slow play is a different matter altogether.
